STEELMASTER Alarm Alert Steel Cash Drawer w/Key & Push-Button Release Lock, Black (225106001)

Well, I did a lot of research here, looking for just the right cash tray. When I saw all the bad reviews, I was skeptical. But... this one was the only one I could find in this size, so I took a chance. Am I ever glad I did! Believe it or not, I actually bought this to be used in a garage sale. Last year I sold the heavy desk I was using for this purpose, so this year I thought, "NOW what am I going to use!" I like to have my money hidden, that is why the desk was handy. Fast forward, I decided to go with a night stand table. That way I could have the night stand at my side and behind my main display tables. But I wanted a money tray to separate bills for easier exchanges. When this tray arrived, I was ecstatic. It fits perfectly.... I even have a little room in the back of the drawer to hide big bills. I have worked in sales a lot over the years, and have been behind many, many cash registers. Naturally this doesn't meet the standards of the solid steel kind. What do you expect for $26? But it is a classy piece, and if you don't beat up on it, it will serve it's purpose for a long time. Breakage? The only way I can see the wands breaking, is if you bend them back. Also, the coin slots are supposed to be adjustable. If they are, it is a little tricky to adjust them, as there are two pieces on the bottom that I assume you have to squeeze together to remove each divider. But I am happy with the five slots provided. I sure am glad I ignored the reviews. I absolutely LOVE this tray!!!!!!

Included in the price is a locking lid, and hanging brackets with hardware. I like the roomy compartments. The change compartments are rounded for easy access to your coins. I love the bell that sounds everytime the drawer is opened. The box is very sturdy and heavy. It is the perfect replacement to my old cash drawer that got stolen. The push button is strong and works great. Most other drawers charge extra for lid and brackets. Shipping was sooner than I was promised. Very pleased!

I rated it 4 stars. Could have given it 5 stars if not for the poor quality mounting screws included. I tried to mount it under a table but the Phillips head mounting screws were very small and extremely hard to drive, should have been a better head design, Torx, Star or hex, not Phillips. Had to go to hardware store and buy better screws because they were poor quality.Edit July 2016The small lock for the cash tray fell apart. They want a $112.74 to ship me a replacement tray with locking cover. Cannot buy just the lid.Looks like the better buy is a complete new unit and sell this one to someone who is not interested in a locking cover.

It sucks.... it is hard to open, at times will not close. I'm pretty sure it will completely fail soon. If you need something to hold up and reliably work in a fats pace environment, just forget it. This thing is a piece of junk.

This is our very first cash drawer so I no other to compare with. This cash drawer is reasonably priced and was very easy to install. Installation only took about five minutes using only a screw driver. We mounted the drawer under a counter. The cash drawer works great for our retail businsess! I highly recommend this product. RDE

Had a hard time finding a cash tray that would fit in the desk drawer next to pencil tray. This fit perfectly! And has just the right number of cash and coin compartments for our use. Seems quite sturdy. Once when the cash count came out 10 cents short we discovered one dime had fallen through the slot in the middle of the tray that falls to the dime compartment. We put a piece of tape over the slot (not sure why that slot is there) and haven’t lost any more dimes!

After about one month of use, the bell fell off inside the drawer and prevented the unit from being use-able. This was a good thing on some level because the bell was so loud. Anyway I removed the bell. Now, about 6 months after purchase, the push-button on the outside is so badly jammed that I cannot open the drawer. I tried to remove the screws in order to look inside at the mechanism, but the screws are somehow stripped or installed so that they do not come out. Quite disappointed with the product.

The design, and quality are great! Easy open, solid drawer opens smoothly. I had a hard time finding an inexpensive cash drawer, this 'fits the bill'.UPDATE It's over a year later and I'm still very happy with the drawer. No issues whatsoever, still operates very smoothly!

Bereits beim Auspacken kommt der Schock. Verbeuelt, verbogen die Feder für den Vorschub verklemmt!Die gesammte Qualität ist totaler schrott. Billig ist sie ja nicht gerade und dafür sollte man doch was erwarten können.Es ist von A-Z das wohl schlechteste was man kaufen kann. Der lacher ist das nur Spielgeld rein passt, bereits ein 20€ Schein ist zu breit! Die Scheinklämmer sind totaler Billigschrott!Finger weg - ich schicke das lächerliche Ding zurück!

The drawer is of good quality and I'm sure will last. The inside plastic try came cracked. We'll see how long it'll last....
