Slim and discrete!
Fits well and easy to form around teeth. I formed it on my bottom teeth to replace the night guard I had from my dentist. It feels lightweight and less chunky than my previous night guard. It also has a translucency to it, so it's not stark white or too noticeable either. Instructions are easy to follow. It's mold-able up to 20 times, so don't worry about getting it perfect the first time. I got a solid fit my second try and it actually helped to get it somewhat formed the first time before dipping it back in the hot water for a better fit. The first fitting attempt is awkward to fit into the mouth because it feels too wide, but once you work it gently around your teeth and suck the air out you can feel it fitting better. Also helps to press the guard against your teeth using your finger tips, via pressing on the outside of your cheeks and lips while your mouth is closed and creating suction at the same time. Suck the air out gently for the first minute, then a little firmer as it sets up. Sets in 3 minutes. I microwaved a cup of water for 2 minutes and softened the guard until it appeared clear. Use a fork to CAREFULLY fish it out. Instructions say that it will mold together if it folds on itself, so avoid doing that!

Hard, brittle plastic like a Playschool toy
I was very disappointed by this expensive night guard. Even after re-molding it around a half dozen times, it still hurt my teeth and left me sore in the morning. Note that you are expected to re-mold this night guard many times before you can expect a good or even usable fit. And while it does get a very close fit to your teeth, the problem is that when it sets this plastic is very hard and brittle and it will be pushing against your teeth all night. No matter how well I molded it, my front teeth were sore every morning I used this guard. Imagine a hard plastic wall pushing against the front side of your front teeth all night while you sleep. Sometimes my teeth and gums hurt like they'd been hit by a basketball. Also, I question how well this product actually protects against damage from teeth clenching when it is a thin, hard piece of plastic that doesn't absorb impact. On the contrary, having hard plastic in your mouth caused impact for me. The worst experience I had with this night guard, which caused me to quit using it completely, was after I'd been using it for a few weeks with the last and "best" mold I had. The back interior corner of the guard was digging into the roof of my mouth and it caused me to wake up very early because of severe pain. I write this review to help other people like me who are trying to find a good night guard without paying astronomical prices for a dentist prescribed guard, and without buying and testing every non-prescription product on the market. I tried the Plackers disposable guards and found them to be comfortable, and they worked, but they would wear out quickly and I didn't want to keep paying $25 for 14-packs which would eventually be more expensive than any other product. There's a style similar to the Plackers that has 3 plastic plugs to bite down on- I bought a store brand version of those and they would not stay in place at all and were completely unusable. I thought this SOVA guard would be a lot more reliable but it definitely is not. I'm currently using the Dentek Professional Fit Maximum Protection Dental Guard and have found it to be the best option. It molds easily- unlike this SOVA guard which is tricky to mold and has to be done again and again- and it is just soft and thick enough that it gives your teeth a comfortable cushion while not being so big you can't fall asleep with it. Again, I'm just someone trying to help other people like myself out and I have no affiliation with any of these companies.

This is the best night guard out there!
I'm not sure why this product doesn't have more reviews, especially compared to other night guards. My dentist recommended a couple of the more highly reviewed (as far as quantity) but I didn't like what I read in the negative reviews. So I did some more digging and found that this guard seemed better (not as bulky, able to remold multiple times if needed). I LOVE this guard. I was dreading using one of these, especially with reading so many poor reviews about mouth guards in general. I didn't know if I'd make it through one night, and I certainly didn't want to pay for a customized guard via dentist. It took about 5 tries the first day I attempted to mold it before I thought it was a good fit. It's very simple to mold, and I am terrible with this kind of thing. It fit well but my teeth and gums hurt a little the next morning. I remolded it again the next day, about 6 or 7 times until I got it right. I've been using it ever since then and it has been great. The most beneficial effect is finally - no more throbbing headaches in the middle of the night and lasting throughout the next day. I didn't even know that teeth grinding was causing the headaches until my dentist pointed it out. I would take Advil or Tylenol with little to no effect (which is unusual for me). I have not had one single headache since using the night guard. I used to think that grinding was yet another thing dentists told their patients they have in order to make more money. But when my dentist thoroughly explained what he observed, as well as recommended I try the less expensive route first, I decided to give it a try. I am so glad I did. I wish I would've started using one years ago. It probably would've prevented the severe gum recession I have currently, as well as spared me from countless needless headaches. I definitely recommend this hidden gem of a mouth guard.

Watch the instruction video, plan where exactly you want your front and back teeth to be positioned.
Instructions were clear on how to fit. It difficult to determine what amount of suction to use while its fitting in your mouth. I had to redo them 6 times in order to get the correct molding around front and back teeth, with no protrusions, smooth fit around gums. First couple tries they were too tight and when I took them off in the morning my teeth ached for a while, probably what it would feel like if you wore braces? I had no idea which surface to put against my teeth, one side is roughish the other is smooth. Overall they stay in place very well, and don't bother me or wake me up. I am not sure if the material feels hard because I had to reshape them so many times? With the material had a little more give. However, I have bitten thru the last ones I wore, which were sports guard types, so maybe this will last longer?
