How much mud does this actually make?

I don't know exactly. It makes a lot, but it dependes on how you are using it. If you are texturing a large room, you will ned three or four bags, or more. For patching, this will do most of what would be needed in a renovation. It's wonderful material!

How long before I can paint a patch I used it for?

I have checked after 90 minutes post application, but it was not dry enough for painting. 90 minutes is the minimal time and it is dependent on how much and how thick you had to apply of the joint compound. I usually waited 24 hrs. to be assured that it was completely dry.

What can make the so called 90 set up in about 5 minutes? Hard could barely clean my tools. So inconsistent in the same bag? Small batches too

Very important to keep the big bag dry, so powder would not solidify prematurely. Also important to keep the tools wet, so you can clean. Dipping tools in pail of water helps but work quickly for best result. Otherwise you'll have unusable clumpy/solid powder in the bag, and uncleanable tools.

Is this good for plaster walls and plaster corners?

I used it for drywall an corners. Worked very well. I would use it to repair plaster too.

Patches well

Had this bag for a few months now, and will probably never get through the bag for the lifespan of this house. Mixes well, and hasn't hardened in it's original bag just sitting in the garage with no moisture control. I use a little bit of PVA glue in the water mixture for secondary coats after sanding. Dries grey.

You pay for the good stuff and this stuff is good.

Great stuff. East to mix, the cost reasonable. I am in my middle to late sixties and it wasn't too hard on my arms mixie it.

I usually use the mixed compound that comes in a bucket but it molds when stored.

I added a bathroom to my garage and used this material on the joints of the drywall and nail heads in the drywall.
