I purchased several products from this seller all at once, and I had this one for about three days before the rest arrived. This front plate is more enjoyable with a matching set of switch customizations. I would not recommend getting it by itself.Also, don't underestimate how difficult it is to install this piece! Complete disassembly of the dock is required because the front plate can't come off until the motherboard, USB C mounting hardware, and green LED have been removed. This isn't as hard as joy con shells, but it's harder than swapping the switch shell. Considering the difficulty and the payoff, think about whether a decal/sticker set would be better.This set came with two black screwdrivers (pictured). This is the only extremerate product I ordered (out of seven or eight) that came with these screwdrivers. I feel like the black screwdrivers are better. Regardless of which ones you get, beware not to strip the screws.

Overall, the faceplate was the easiest item to install. I had purchased the joycon shells along with the one for the back of the Switch and none of those compared to how easy it was to install this. I still advise you to take your time and possibly purchase more screwdrivers that are made for the Switch to be safe. Another thing to note, the faceplate is a bit lighter of a pink than the joycon/Switch set you can order from eXtremeRate. Just something to keep in mind in case that is something you don't want. However, from afar you don't really notice and it's a nice thing to have if you want your Switch to be all one color. It really makes a difference and makes the Switch seem more complete. I definitely recommend this!

As a disclaimer, I went into the whole project blind, didn't look up any teardown guides, but as someone who loves taking things apart just to see how they work, this was a daunting, but educational experience. If you're uncertain with your skills, please seek a repair shop or a friend who can help.With that being said, this plate is probably the easiest of the 3 kits needed to customize your entire console. I also replaced the LEDs and the switch itself.Taking this apart is fairly straightforward. Unlike the other 2 kits, this one does not come with the nice gold multibit tool as shown in my other reviews, get an LED kit if you want one. Work your way inward with the screws and keep track of where they went, they're different sizes.Be sure to slide off the inner panels from your old dock and put them in here. The tolerances of mine were just slightly off and I had to push in the carriage harder and upward for it to drop in, but at this point it was my first step so I was being super careful.Do note though, if you got a Switch like the animal crossing one that uses a different color carriage, this kit will not replace that. So I have a black front panel but a white carriage and back door. This isn't a problem for me, but something to be mindful of if you do have a special one.When doing an entire kit, this is a good starting step to get used to how the tools and disassembly works.I have reviews for the other components of this kit, just find my pictures in the Amazon Rolodex and you'll find them easily!

I have bought more cases from these guys then I can shake a stick at. Everyone in my family wanted one design or another.While the clear ones in various colors seems to be popular, the one everyone DROOLS over is this color.Not surprising, really. It's gorgeous and pictures can't even remotely do it justice so, yes, I nabbed the chameleon as soon as I saw it and cannot wait for more designs to match more of their various Switch and joycon cases.Sadly, there is one itty bitty caveat to the chameleon and, please do listen VERY closely because it is NOT their fault: the chameleon colors are basically car paint. You can ONLY get that kind of coloration from a really good car paint job. I mean, you have got to have talent to even do this kind of color but, yes, sadly, the inherent flaws of the medium just cannot be escaped.Lemme rephrase: they HAD TO go with paint to get the sparkly, irredescent colors (the chameleon colors). The downside however is that those colors are a little more delicate than the others.OTHER COLORS ARE NOT AFFECTED!!!Sometimes, cool costs, whatcanisay?That being said, on the Switch's backplate or, here, on the dock, I don't see it being much of a problem but folks may want to avoid harsh cleaners just to be safe.Or, you may be like me and seriously just not care cause... *COOL*!!!!Still thought folks might wanna know though when picking their color scheme.:D

I'm so happy with this purchase. I originally had a sleeve on the dock and a skin at one point. This permanent plate is perfect for a sleek professional look. The installation was easy and I was able to use the tools provided without stripping any screws. 10/10! I would recommend this to a friend.

This was just what I wanted to match the NES shell for the Switch and Switch joycon. It was fairly easy to install and looks nice as it’s a 1:1 replacement for the oem faceplate. Once I had it all put together and plugged back into my media cabinet I noticed that the top 3/4 of the faceplate slightly bends outwards. I took it all apart and loosened the screws to a point where I knew it was looser than stock then put it all together again but I still get the bending. The plastic hasn’t broken or given any signs that it will break, but it just looks sloppy to me and bugs me when I look at it from the sides. Other than that it’s perfect!

Last year I bought their joycon shells. I wanted to do the backplate and dock plate too, but it took me forever to feel like I had enough energy for it. Finally ordered them this past week. I don’t recommend mixing last year’s two-color shells with this year’s. The pictures look the same but I can tell they’re different formulas in the mica. So if you only bought part of the pieces last year and want to complete it this year.... honestly, just buy a new full set instead of a partial set that completes what you already have. Because they won’t look the same.

I am so impressed with this, it took a while to fit but there are easy to follow YouTube videos and the result is well worth it. The quality of the replacement cover is as good as the original and the wood effect is very realistic.

Assembly isn't too complicated. If you're familiar with taking things apart it should take less than 30 mins.Fits as well as the original. Looks good with switch logo off ebay!

Brilliant - really enjoyed putting together and love the colour. I decided to use better quality tools than it came with to reduce the risk of breaking any of the delicate screws.
