Baker's third album, "Giving You the Best That I Got", was released in October 1988. The album became a critical and commercial success, reaching #1 on the Billboard 200 chart and selling 5 million copies worldwide (3 million in the US alone). It featured such hits as "Just Because" and the title tune "Giving You the Best That I Got" which became Baker's biggest pop hit, reaching #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 while going to #1 on the R&B charts. Baker is an eight-time Grammy Award winner with three gold albums and four platinum albums.
