Great quality oil for a decent price
Perfect for my Harley-Davidson Sportster XL1200C. Needed just shy of three quarts to do a complete oil change. Excellent quality oil for the price. No surprise this is such a popular choice for those unwilling to pay Harley tax. Bike is singing now!

Have used this oil in several different motorcycles. As far as I am concerned, it is a very good product.

It'd better be the best at 10 bucks a quart
This is the best oil I have ever used. I couldn't believe the change I felt in the first 5 minutes of riding. Up and down shifting was smooth as warm butter and zero clutch slipping. That being said, it'd better be at 10 bucks a quart! ;-) So it cost me $24 to change my oil now, without the filter. I am NOT a motorcycle/engine gear head, so I can ONLY speak to how I feel my 2002 Suzuki SV650S (street sports bike) used the oil. It is a v-twin and a wet clutch. My history: When I got my bike in 2005, I started trying to use Valvoline SynPower Full Synthetic Motor Oil SAE 20W-50 - 1 Quart (Case of 6) , then the dealership guy talked me back to Suzuki 10w-40, then after reading forums I switched to Shell Rotella 550019913 15W-40 T Triple Protection Motor Oil - 1 Gallon, (Pack of 3) . I can't recall how the bike handled on the Valvoline oil since it was so long ago, but this oil has surpassed all those oils and how I felt the bike handled. I got this case in along with a K&N KN-138 Powersports High Performance Oil Filter (I like the hex nut on the filter) and changed the oil myself. I tried to get every drop of old oil out by leaning the bike back and forth slow like with the plug and filter out. The Valvoline SynPower Full Synthetic Motor Oil SAE 20W-50 - 1 Quart (Case of 6) says it is not "certified" for wet clutches. To me, that doesn't mean it CAN'T be used for my v-twin, and I would enjoy the savings of $3 a quart, but everyone keeps saying an engine "re-build" is more expensive than oil so...I'm stuck buying what I feel is the safer decision. If you read a bunch online, you'll see all the guys who say motorcyclist are just being swindled into buying "motorcycle" oil when it is exactly the same stuff that is in the bottle without a motorcycle emblem on it. I can't give any insight into it and it is rather frustrating. I DO KNOW however that if the emblem on the back of oil says "energy savings" you absolutely should not put this in the motorcycle. That being said, the Valvoline was safe in that regards as is many of the other "non motorcycle certified" fully synthetic oils. What is important to know about oil for motorcycles that I have learned: 1) Change it regularly 2) Don't get stuff with additives for energy savings 3) get 20w-50 for v-twins, especially those in lower states where it doesn't get very cold

Be good to your engine and it will be good to you!
Why did you pick this product vs others?: I have always trusted the Mobil 1 products. I bought these for my Harley FatBoy. It has all of the additives and is designed specially for the big twin engines. Harley sells the Syn3 oil which is a synthetic blend oil but they don't make it, they just pay a refiner to allow them to stick their labels on it. Mobil 1 has been around for a long time and have a long line of excellent ratings. I have heard that Harley will not honor your warranty if you use anything but Harley products, but this is not true! As with any claim for warranty work, the physical proof is the issue. Oil related failure is a fairly easy thing to prove if it exists. The way oil cooks onto the rotating parts, or if it causes an oil journal to clog, are the usual spots. As I have said, I have used Mobil 1 since it hit the market. This is the Mobil 1 statement: "Mobil 1 meets or exceeds the requirements of various industry performance standards and specifications". As with any oil, it's job is to protect rotating parts and to clean dirt and other contaminates from your engine. They usually enter through the air intake, so be sure to change or clean that first line of defense with your oil change.

I use this in my Harley
I have 100,000 miles on my Harley. I change the oil every 5-6 k miles. I burn no oil!

Synthetic oil review
Been using Mobil 1 products for years. Never an issue. Price needs to be more competitive. Valvoline full synthetic is my backup when price comes in to play
