We bought several of these for our entry doors. They are easy to install and do a fantastic job of keeping the entry doors closed even with the weight of a grown man pushing against it from outside. One is sufficient on an entry door and does the job it is intended for. We used two to add more security. Another plus is that if you need to go in and out of your door and want to keep it from closing, just flip these over in the door. Looking for an inexpensive, extra layer of security? These will work just like you hope they will. Only caveat is that these only work when you are at home. NOTE: Some are easy to flip back and forth without any concern. Some, when new are quite stiff and takes some working at to get them to flip open and closed when using. The screws that come with them aren't worth anything. Get better sturdier screws.

Great product. This is not meant to keep someone from kicking in your door. It's meant to keep small children from opening the door on their own. Likes: Super simple to install. Finishes available to match existing door hardware. Effective in keeping three year old from opening the door and going outside. Minimally invasive, only two screw holes to patch up if you remove it. No need to notch your door jamb. Doesn't stick out like a sore thumb either. Blends right into the door system. Dislikes: A little thin. I would pay a dollar or two more for a slightly thicker steel, but then you run the risk of this product not working so universally.

Sure they're easy to install. So are the ones from home depot by everibuilt and first watch. These are flimsy. They bend easily. They clealry weren't hardened. There's way too much play on the hinge once it's locked in place. Doesn't matter how you adjust it to the door frame. The hinge can be pulled away from the door by nealry and inch before stopping. Makes it really easy to push past. As my 11 yo neice accidentally found out. She didn't realize it had set, gave the door a little push thinking the door was just stuck and pushed right into the house. I have a tendency to install 2 1/2" screws on door hardware. These won't accommodate a flush install with 2 1/2" screws lisk the ones from firstwatch and everbilt. They also didn't save me any money compared to the other brands. There's really no upside to These particular latches. I'm highly disappointed becuase now I have to effectively buy them twice. The photo is one that isn't bent. You can see how far out from the door the latch will go before "bottoming out". The one i have on the front door from Home depot sits flush against the door so you can open it maybe a 1/8" before it bottoms out and the door won't move anymore. Needless to say I expected atleast the same quality as the home depot one seeing as the price is slightly higher for these

The lock installs easily enough. When in the locked position, slight resistance is blocked, but if you push just a little harder, the latch reverts to the open position. In other words, someone who is considerate will know that the door is locked when attempting to open it, and will step away. But someone who is intent on entering will not be deterred by this lock. That is, it is a privacy lock, not a security lock.

This is a simple yet effective way to keep your busy toddler from opening doors you don't want them to open. I installed it on our front door, but you can install it on any door frame as needed. The lock gets installed on the door frame or in my case on the other 'fixed' door that I have in my apartment. It comes with 2 screws and instructions on what drill but to use if you end up needing it. To lock and unlock, you need to lift the flap up and turn it over then push down. This secures it in place. (See pictures and video attached). Highly recommended low cost and very effective childproofing item!

Got the flip lock in 3 days. Exactly what I wanted. Easy install (less than 10 minutes). Used it as a privacy lock on bedroom door.

I bought one of these ingenious locks over 20 years ago from a newspaper offer and have since tried to buy another. I looked everywhere and couldn't find one anywhere. Finally at long last I found one and I am so pleased with it.

A nice simple door lock, which does the job of preventing toddlers from opening doors very well. Thoroughly recommended.
