NSKI SRH805S SMA-F Female Dual Band Antenna for GT-3 UV-5R BF-888s Radio

Works great

Excellent for short range communications. Would recommend low power when using these. After disassembling one of these and seeing how its constructed I can imagine that anything higher than low power would prove catastrophic to a radio.

I enjoy this antenna for the mere fact that despite its small size it does not totally suck! Its great as sort of a "cap antenna" to put on a compact radio so you can stuff it in your pocket like I do with my UV-5R when out and about. It seals perfectly with the UV-5R's antenna base and transmit and receive are surprisingly not a mere dummy load like certain stock antennas! On the 888s it fits the role really nicely, and while it fits snug and seal on the 888s you have to tighten it up a bit to the point where its difficult to remove easily but is non the less secure. Going back to "pocket carry" of my UV-5R, it picks up a variety of VHF and UHF repeaters, public safety transmitters, etc. when within 5-8 miles but nothing too impressive so if you want to pocket carry I suggest this and maybe something like a Nagoya 771R in your pocket next to it should you need to Rx or Tx suddenly when out and about. For the price can't go wrong either.

Easy to store a Baofeng in your bag with this little bullet antenna. OK for reception. Not so sure how good it is for transmit. Definitely not as good as the regular whip antenna that comes with it.

Not sure if I got lucky but this stubby works ever bit as well as my stock AnyTone HT antenna. Works great for local repeater (hot spot) and local repeaters within 10 miles. Mostly use 440 but 2M seems to work fine too. I don't intend to transmit much with it just to be safe as I can't measure the SWR but works fantastic for receive of FM radio, GMRS, 2M and 440Mhz. No reduction in performance over the excellent stock 8" dual band antenna included with the AnyTone 878UV2-Plus. Painted the ghastly 'gold' color black, much better looking.

Great product, great pricing, and great shipping time.

2" Stubby Antenna The short stubby 2" antenna uses a coil to match TX to a 50 ohm load, not radiate. Don't expect miracles with this one. Very close range on UHF only. Do not use on VHF. SWR on VHF is through the roof and can damage radio. Use with caution.

Use this little guy at work. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it gets better signal than the standard length rubber duck that comes stock on my aging Motorola ex500. Better range and clarity, smaller package. Good stuff.

Compared with the original Diamond model and it lacks of a capacitor in parallel with the coil inside. Infinite SWR in VHF band. Works only in UHF.

Working great, but not for second radio
