What can I say about one of the MOST TALENTED singers of my time?! This was the 1st album of the Late Luther Vandross I had ever owned. I was in my early teens then and the cassette tape has long been lost. I have most of his cd's and I'm glad I reintroduced this one back into my collection. My favorite, 'there's nothing better than love' is a lovely duet with the Late Gregory Hines and how I miss him too. The song is even more special to me now, since they're both living on in memory...

I am the biggest Luther Vandross in the entire UNIVERSE! The entire Luther Vandross catalog has been remastered for better EQ levels and I wanted the best quality mastering to hear through my Beats headphones! With all that being said, I received my C.D. in stellar condition and prompt delivery!!!! Love this whole CD

One of my favorite Luther VanDross CD'S. My all time favorite song is the duet with Gregory Hines, There's nothing better than love. Put this CD on with a candle lit dinner and your love will not be able to refuse you anything. Love Rules!

I brought the Give Me the Reason album because of the album title song and because I've been a fan of Luther Vandross's music since I was a kid. But almost three weeks ago, I popped the album into my CD deck and started my journey of listening to the entire album. After finishing the album, I fell in love with tracks other than the title track.Give Me the Reason (1986) was a mixture of slow love songs, up tempo love songs of the pop and R&B variety, and etc. This albums' main intent was to cater to the tastes of Vandross's R&B, R&B soul, and R&B pop fans. There were songs all over this album that covered those aforementioned genres.My favorite songs on this album are these:1.) Track 9: Anyone Who Had a Heart2.) Track 5: Give Me the Reason3.) Track 8: Because It's Really Love4. Track: 4: So AmazingLuther's vocals (as usual) carried this album, but he had help making helping album sell over 2 million copies since 1986. And that help came from talented beat production artists such as Marcus Miller and Nat Adderley Jr.Pros of Give Me the Reason: Luther's vocal stylings and the beat production on the album. Miller and Adderley's beat production went hand in hand with Vandross's and the backing vocalists' singing styles.Cons of Give Me the Reason: This album had a few filler songs on it, but they were saved by Luther's vocals and the beat production.In conclusion, Give Me the Reason was a strong album that was spearheaded by Luther's distinctive and otherworldly vocal structure and stylings. There was a pop feel to this album with some R&B soul thrown into it but overall, this was a signature Vandross album and a well put together album that will satisfy his longtime fans and even some new converts.
