What’s to say? It’s a clamp.
I used this to construct a CAGE for the catalytic converter on my motorhome. I used 20’ of 3/8” stainless cable and wrapped it around the CAT, threading it through the frame twice and clamping it to the 3” diameter exhaust pipe at each end of the CAT. This was my $50 makeshift alternative to purchasing a CAT CAGE for over $400. My method of securing each end of the cable with these two clamps was similar to how it’s secured on the CAT CAGE. These clamps were easy to install, and they provide a secure cable attachment. This will not prevent a thief from stealing my CAT. However, cutting the cable or these clamps is an additional task that they’ll have to accomplish before walking away with my valuable converter. I doubt they’ll have the wrenches to remove the nuts on the clamps; I can’t imagine that they’d think those necessary in their nefarious endeavor. The CAGE might make them consider the additional time required to pilfer my property, and weigh this against the burden of incarceration. For those of you not in the know, catalytic converter theft is rampant and proliferating at a frightening pace. The thieves use a battery powered sawzall to cut the exhaust pipe, commonly leaving the “exhausted” blades behind. I’ve heard too many stories of people going into a store or restaurant and returning as little as 20 minutes later to hear the ROAR of their engine when they start their car. It happened to my good friend in front of his house in a neighborhood in Olympia, Washington. As an added deterrent, I etched my VIN number into the converter and painted the entire thing orange. While some people say these methods do nothing to prevent theft, I disagree. It is obvious that some Catalytic Converter thieves are selling these for dimes-on-the-dollar to fences. I seriously doubt that any fence is going to accept a converter with a VIN number etched in it.

Good used clamps
These used clamps with new wide flange nuts are the old type that I prefer. They came greasy and in a taped together box, but they do the job for a great price.

Peace and quiet again
Purchased for my 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 SXT 140.5" WB 3.7L V6. Perfect fit. The hard part was getting the old incorrect generic muffler off that I had installed at a Muffler Shop 3 years ago. Once I got the old muffler off the new correct muffler, tail pipe clamps on in less than 20 mins. Muffler to front exhaust pipe takes 3" clamp. Muffler to tail pipe takes 2.75" clamp. I was able to re-use the rubber hangers. Suggest spray a little penetrating oil in the holes of the hangers. Also suggest removing the rubber hangers from the hanger on the truck, re-assemble to the muffler hangers first then re-install to the hangers on the truck. I figured I saved about $100 - $150 doing a bolt on replacement instead of having a muffler shop weld it on. I recommend this Walker Muffler, Tail pipe and Clamps.

Excellent fit!
The fit was excellent & the strength/hardness of these exhaust clamps worked well. I was able to torque the resonator on & have a complete seal using these clamps. Great value!

poor packaging- missing nut
The good news it that it works very well. Sealed the exhaust pipe. Bad news is that one of the nuts was missing, trip to Home Dept.. The cardboard packing box is very flimsy. Perhaps vendor should keep all the components in a plastic bag.
