Would this work for a Draft horse?? (18Hand Percheron)

This is the Horse size. You’d need a draft size for a draft Horse. It hits tall enough for maybe a 16h Horse but that’d be about it.

Question 2

Why does the height of the person make a difference? I would think it based on the size of the horse.  I am 5' 6".

We've discussed this very topic  with the inventor himself.  When the horse's leg is in the cradle and you want to be able to free up two hands to work the nippers or rasp you place your knee against the hoof wall and push the hoof against the far  wall of the cradle to lock the hoof against the cradle to hold the hoof still.  when Mr. Keeler invented the standard model he noticed that shorter people who had a lower knee height found it more difficult to accomplish this because the Hoofjack cradle would not adjust low enough to get their knee in the correct position and they used the leg just above the knee which required them to place their leg a little further away from their body to accomplish this since the leg bends back when squatting.  So he invented the medium model which has a base 3 inches shorter thus allowing the shorter user to go a little lower if they wanted to enabling them to place their leg in a more ergonomic position.  I was told he could use both the standard and the medium to trim a 16 hand horse but you are correct in thinking the medium will not go as tall as the standard; but in most cases it goes tall enough to get the job done for even taller horses  and allows you to go a tad bit lower to accommodate your own knee height should you want to work more comfortably at that height.  The DVD that comes with the Hoofjack shows techniques such as this for using the product.  I myself am under 5'10" and use the standard model instead of the medium only because I purchased it before the medium came out; I am very happy  with the standard size but I also only trim a few horses.  He made the medium size to fit the shorter person a little better.  If you have the standard you would probably be perfectly happy with it and wouldn't sell it to buy the medium.  However, if you don't have either, the medium offers the most efficient fit for people under 5'10" when you are using the cradle with your knee. Hi Gina,  the base is 12" in height and has a diameter of 18" for stability. Overall height adjustment is approx.  14" - 22".   We have these in stock and would be happy to help you with one.

Can this work for a small pony as well as a horse ?

Depends on how small the pony is. Probably to high for a mini but works well for small pony.
