Perfect Sized Grit for Growing Chicks!
I needed a small-sized grit that didn't contain any extra ingredients like crushed oyster shells for my 8 week old chicks since they are not laying eggs yet and don't need the extra calcium for egg production. This fit the bill perfectly. It is small enough for them to peck at, but not too fine that it is powder, and not too large that it does no good for their digestion. Speaking of which, if your chicks have runny poops, then you need to put them on this grit. Guarantee to firm up their poop in no time. My local feed stores have been out of stock (back ordered) of this type poultry grit for almost 2 months now. I shopped around online for poultry grit from other manufacturers, and this was by far, the best deal around here on Amazon. I also highly recommend their brand of Scratch and Peck feed selections. I purchase 40lb sacks of them from Azure Standard which is much cheaper than the prices here on Amazon. I just wish Azure Standard would carry this brand of Grower Grit.

Perfect for growing chicks
Works great for our chicks! Super happy with it. The chickens were happy with the size and started eating it up right away. Great value!

A+ for gritty mix
Late edit 2020-02-16: The size of this mix is absolutely perfect and it's apparent by the fact that the gritty mix I still have made with the manna pro granite dissipates water too quickly for turface to retain water. This, more closely matching the size of turface, provides perfect water retention for turface to soak in water. --- Used for succulent mix. Had used Manna Pro before.. this is more aesthetically pleasing while also being closer in size to the turface I was using, so the entire mix is much more consistent.

High quality grit
My chickens gobble up these rocks. These are noticeably bigger than the starter grit so pay attention to the age recommendation.

Chicken food
well satisfied with the chicken food, for as long as it lasts and ships I don't know how much of a cost increase would make it viable!

Happy flock happy home!
Our flock does free range but loves the grit as a treat in their house and this is perfect for their growing size.

Using in home made potting soil
Best deal! Got this after I saw it highly recommended as one of the ingredients in a number of recipes for home made potting soil. A lot of people in my hosta groups on Facebook, both home gardeners and nursery owners, make their own and I kept seeing mention of grower grit made from crushed granite as a 'must have' especially when potting perennials. It holds moisture for roots, and also provides some extra minerals over a plant's long term housing in the same pot. Other water retainers like peat moss or vermiculite break down over time and destroy the soil's air permeability, which is vital. Also starter or chick grit is recommended for seed starting soil mixes. It's better long-term and DEFINITELY cheaper than traditional vermiculite!
