My product specifically had "Non-Scented" on front bottom of bottle.

does Suave work well for Afro-American hair?

I do not have Afro-American hair but I can tell you the texture of my hair is medium thickness. It keeps my hair styled and strong as I have naturally wavy/curly hair. With your hair type having a stronger hair texture, it might be beneficial and keep a strong hold. The spray is more of a liquid rather than air which I find most beneficial. A little goes a long way. Hope this helps!
