Safety is paramount in horse riding. The Freejump Safety Stirrups are designed with this philosophy. The flexible outer branch on the stirrups enables foot release in case of an accident or fall. The stirrups are left and right.

Wanted to love them, but too gimmicky
These get amazing reviews, but for the price I really didn't love them. The matte plastic finish looks very cheap for such an expensive stirrup and they immediately get scuffed and dirty. Very heavy with intense grip, so much so that you cannot easily reposition your feet without really thinking about it. Some people love that feature, I prefer the freedom to adjust my position. These also need to be removed after every ride because they are giant, offset and impossible to roll up, they also scratch your saddle and leathers very badly. They are easy to remove with the open loop, but also easy to forget on a bench.. I liked the feel, but all the extra work made them too gimmicky. I prefer the weight of Tech Stirrups and my trainer also suggested the Shires lightweight Stirrup with interchangeable tread ($32)!!! and I actually love those so much more.

Update on stirrup order
I wrote the below based on a previous order of these stirrups. Just got my second pair today -- which I ordered in navy. Nothing wrong with them, but they are RED. I'll keep them because I live in the middle of nowhere and it's too much of a hassle to return them. But it's annoying that I spent this much money and they got the order wrong. These stirrups are revolutionary. They're comfortable and solid, AND they open up if you fall so your foot doesn't get caught. It's really reassuring not to worry about getting dragged by your horse after a fall.

Love them XC
Pros - great for XC, excellent grip, easy to clean, heavy (unlike some of the other composite stirrups) so if you do lose a stirrup you can find it again fairly easily.Cons - recommend removal from saddle after riding as they will scratch your saddle if ‘tied’ up .. can’t ‘run up’ like normal stirrups.Note: Make sure you have them on correctly (R/L and color to the outside)
