Stockmar Opaque Watercolor Set - Great Waldorf Art Supplies

My 3 YO loves these paints—and so do I. They are vibrant, don’t fade, have a large array and are wonderful. Very easy for him to paint with them. They don’t bleed but instead maintain their viscosity so you can achieve the desired result (that’s what I noticed when I painted with them). The brush is also great. Wish I could buy another of just the Stockmar cat’s tongue brush, but can’t find it anywhere. Love that the brush is natural. Also love that each color palate (each circle) pops out and can be replaced when it runs out. Very sustainable—though wish each circle was in metal instead of plastic…but the tin is plastic as well as the palate. And the brush is horse hair, metal and wood. So all in all this is very sustainable — and nearly plastic free, which makes this momma happy :) Also, I’ve been able to get errant paint marks out of my son’s white shirts. As long as I pretreat and wash within a day or so, the color comes out. I wash his white shirts with Sal Suds on hot. Btw, we tried Crayola watercolors (they were a gift) — those bleed into the other colors, don’t have much structure and faded almost immediately. And that was on high quality Strathmore watercolor paper. Also crayola is entirely synthetic and plastic - the container, the insert, the brush. No thanks. Lastly, the stockmar watercolors last a really long time. My son has been painting with them for 9 months and we still have a ton of color left in each circle. In comparison, one hour of painting with crayola and we can nearly see the bottom of 2 of the colors.

This is such a great watercolor palette! The colors are soooo vibrant. We use it in our Waldorf homeschool lessons and it's still going strong after nearly 18months! Nothing like the cheap Crayola stuff. There are vendors who sell the individual colors so you can replace any that run out faster than others. Highly recommend! I will never buy cheap art supplies again. Get some good brushes to go with this.

This watercolor color palette and variety is top! Is lightweight and so easy to clean and store. Love it!

Nice design with the metal box instead of plastic. Colors can be replaced separately. Metal insert mixing palette. Reminds me of my childhood paintbox from 1976 when they were all made of metal instead of the unrecycleable plastic. Standard colors instead of funky pink and purples CYM, after all we are not ink jet printers. I prefer the traditional colors. You cant reacreate traditionl style paintings with CMY without black and you cannot create a true red like carmine red with CMY. This is old school. Karmine red, blue and yellow. I will purchase this again

The included brush is utter rubbish and the metal palette is useless. Besides that they are decent. Made in Germany like all STOCKMAR, I guess.

I like this very much. My daughter is 4 and has no trouble using these to create vibrant, rich pictures. I use them myself and paint with her and find that the results are similar to my high-end professional paints. A very nice set. This was an upgrade for her from another set (by Faber-Castell) which always produced watery/murky paintings. Not anymore -- all of her colors remain distinct.

Most beautiful watercolors I’ve used so far. Love that I can apply them opaque OR as watered down watercolors. I suspect this $30 pallet will last a YEAR+ used as watercolors. Great value for an excellent brand.
