Needs improvement, best off getting a Nintendo Pro controller instead.
Review by a Hardcore Gamer. So I've recently bought my second Nintendo Switch but own many/have owned MANY consoles over the last 33 years.I bought this device because the Nintendo Joy-Cons are great for handheld use but I find them I bit small when connected to the standard Joy-Con controller mount. I was toying with the idea of getting the Pro controller but the price is a bit steep for what it is and also I own a large collection of Xbox controllers so this adapter seemed like a great way of saving me money and letting me use my Xbox controller at the same time.Unfortunately this device comes with a few issues that really make it difficult to use as a permanent replacement for the Pro controller.1. 1st issue was that the adapter itself doesn't actually fit in the Switch Dock. There about 2/3mm overlap between the power cord and the HDMI cable. This means that in order to get it in you have to open the red outer casing of the adapter and just put the inner USB mechanism into your DOCK (SEE IMAGE 1). This isn't a massive issue believe it or not as the case is quite easy to just prize open with nothing more than a fingernail without causing any damage to it but you could loss the little sync button if your not careful.2. The second issue was getting the controller to recognise my controller. Although the device went green almost instantly, the switch did take some convincing before anything happened. However once it had started working I found that once you shut the system down, my Xbox controller was unable to make the Switch wake from the sleep state so I'd still have to get up and start it manually, which leads me to my third issue.3. This was biggest issue for me and a gamer that plays all systems, both Xbox and Playstation have a similar button layout and my biggest issue with Nintendo has always been the inverted A/B and X/Y layout. Thankfully Nintedo have finally allowed us to change the button layout on the Switch. This works perfectly for me on the official Nintendo Joy-Con's and it also worked great on the Xbox controller using this device. The problem is once again when you shut the system down and then reboot. It forgets it everytime, luckily Nintendo let you save Presets on the Switch but having to go back into the setting everytime you start the console got real old, real quick. Also their doesn't seem to be a home button allocated to the Xbox controller. You'd think it would be the Nexus button in the middle of the controller but that just takes you to the power button settings. 🤷♂️4. This is nothing really but I felt it was worth mentioning that if your like me and know what your doing with all gadgets and gizmos I just thought..."Hey, it probably just needs the firmware updating!"Well I checked that and unlike what it says in the info that it can get firmware updates, at this time there NO firmware updates available for it. So that's just a FYI. 👍Overall Rating 6.5/10I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt slightly because like it says it can be updated and maybe it will get better soon. My advice at the moment is to just either stick with the Joy-Con's or bite the bullet and buy a Pro controller. I unfortunately didn't get to my PS controller with this device as the only one I have has a unchargable battery so I can't vouch for how well it works with the Dual Shock but I'd imagine it's a similar experience.

Fantastic piece of kit
It's amazing to be able to use my wireless Xbox controller on the switch. I never really got on with the Joy-cons because they are too small. I also prefer the Xbox controller over other wireless switch controllers. It's Plug and Play so no set up is required. I've experienced no lag even when using fighting and shooting games where lag can really make a difference. I tried it wired, and although it worked perfectly, the wireless option is my preferred option. All in all, i am happy with the use and the quality of the adapter. I would recommend this!

don't buy useless for nintendo switch
This product is completely useless and is being miss sold its phically impossible to plug it into the switch Dock and use the Dock at the same time as the power and hdmi cables don't fit when this is plugged in... don't buy if buying for a switch

Works as advertised
For me it works in exactly the way it says it will. Saved a lot of money with this and an old xbox controller rather than getting a pro controller. As others stated casing makes it too big to use on the internal usb on the dock so if you were hoping to hide it, this probably isnt the right product for you.

Sadly it didn't work for me, tried through cable, used different type of controllers, tried wireless, followed the steps and checked for firmware(no firmware) nothing worked.
