Voltage Tester 12-1000V AC Electric Tester Pen with LED Flashlight

I’ve been using this Neoteck non-contact voltage tester for basic electrical checks around the house, and it’s been very reliable. The non-contact design makes it easy and safe to use — just bring the tip near an outlet or wire, and it quickly indicates if there’s live voltage. The buzzer and light alert are clear and easy to notice, even in brighter environments. The built-in LED flashlight is a nice bonus, especially when working in dim areas like behind appliances or inside panels. It’s also very straightforward to use — no complicated setup, just turn it on and go. The sensitivity range (12–1000V) covers typical household electrical work well. One thing to keep in mind is that, like all non-contact testers, it’s best used for quick checks rather than precise measurements. It’s a great first safety check but shouldn’t replace a full multimeter for detailed work. Overall, this is a very useful and affordable tool to have on hand for basic electrical safety. Pros: easy to use, quick detection, clear alerts, built-in flashlight Cons: not for precise measurements

The Neoteck Voltage Tester was delivered on time and in good condition. The new tester is a replacement for another tester that I gave away as a gift. Since arrival I have checked the new tester for functionality, durability, speed, appearance and accuracy and its working fine. I recommended as a very useful tool to have around when checking or doing electrical work.

Works pretty good and easy to use.

The Neoteck Non-Contact AC Voltage Tester Pen is a reliable and versatile tool for anyone working with electrical systems, whether you're a professional electrician or a DIY enthusiast. Here’s my take on its features and performance: Pros: Wide Voltage Range: The tester can detect AC voltages from 12V to 1000V, making it suitable for a variety of applications, from household outlets. Non-Contact Operation: The non-contact design enhances safety by allowing voltage detection without direct contact with wires, reducing the risk of accidental shocks. Clear Indicators: The combination of an LED flashlight and visual display ensures you can easily identify live wires, even in low-light conditions. Compact and Portable: The pen-like design is lightweight and easy to carry, fitting comfortably in your pocket or tool bag. LED Flashlight: The built-in flashlight is a thoughtful addition, perfect for working in dimly lit areas. Durability: The sturdy construction ensures it can withstand regular use and minor drops, making it a dependable addition to your toolkit. Energy Efficiency: The auto power-off function helps conserve battery life, ensuring the tester is ready when you need it. Cons: Sensitivity Adjustment: While it works well, the sensitivity could sometimes pick up static signals, requiring careful handling to avoid false positives. Learning Curve: Beginners may need to familiarize themselves with how to interpret the buzzer and light signals effectively. Final Thoughts: The Neoteck Non-Contact AC Voltage Tester Pen is a must-have tool for anyone who deals with electrical work. Its wide voltage range, non-contact operation, and additional features like the flashlight and buzzer make it a versatile and safe option. While it requires some practice to use effectively, the convenience and reliability it offers are well worth the price.

Simple and inexpensive. I used this for home electrical work such as rewiring a bathroom, adding a GFCI and replacing switches and outlets. I already knew the basic circuit breaker blueprint, but I have become tired of being electrocuted when either what I am told or what I assumed is wrong. This Neoteck tool helped me determine that I was working with two circuits and not one, thus protecting me from a possible shock. It also helped me determine that the previous owner wired a switch that I still have idea what it switches lol. It worked accurately every time I used it. I can be a bit paranoid so I verified each time on a live circuit that it detected 120vAC (the only voltage I have used it for thus far) as well as verifying that there is no voltage on what I am shoving my hand into to dig out wires. It did NOT detect voltage through drywall (nor did I expect it to), but did detect voltage at the wall plates. It does beep when it is bumped, but this is a characteristic of most brands in this price range. The solution is to approach the wire, outlet or area slowly, then wait for a persistent beep for a positive detection of voltage. I also did not think it was overly sensitive. I had to be pretty much on target for the tester to register voltage. I actually liked the light to look into the electrical box trying to trace where the wires I wanted went to. It seems a little cheaply made, but I tend to take care of my tools. However, accidents do and will happen. This would be my only concern is longevity, which I can not attest to since I have not had it that long. I would recommend it to anyone!

I'm unsure if this would stand up to industrial use (everyday, rough treatment), but it does the job at a very effective cost and includes a useful flashlight on the working end. If you are not a pro and you are doing electrical work around the house, it seems to me this is a well worthwhile investment to protect yourself.

Exactly what I needed! Easy to use, clearly alerts you.

Update on May 3rd Amazon addressed and resolved the issue by arranging to send a replacement immediately. The second one works like a champ. It must have been one defective piece. Product does not work as described. I am wondering 13000 customers bought this and it has a rating of 4.3! The tester should beep at a lower frequency and display only the yellow bars when on Null and beep at a higher frequency and display the red bars also when on a live wire. The live wire shows the yellow bars and low frequency beep and the Null and Ground shows nothing. I specifically bought this because it is supposed to display both conditions. It FAILED! Now here comes the icing on the cake - There is no technical support from Amazon or the manufactrer by Chat or by Phone. They do not seem a presence in USA. The packaging shows two numbers - one in Germany and the other in UK. I needed support and Amazon disappointed me. All they have is precorded FAQs but no person I can chat with. May be I am making a mistake in using. I bought this to install a Thermostat and now I have to wait. I have attached a picture from the Amazon website showing how it should work.
