The matt does everything I could have wanted it to do. I made uramaki (rice on outside) rolls and it's perfect. Easier to clean than bamboo but honestly I never found that to be a drawback of bamboo. It does take getting used to as it's not as rollable as bamboo. I gave value for money 3 stars because it is cheaply made and after just one dinner's worth of use the matt had wear on the thin hinges. It looks like it will break over time.

Bought these having bought a few bamboo ones before but they always end up unhygienic as they are impossible to clean well. These clean up very nicely, and much easier - just throw in dishwasher or even if hand washing still easier. They are well thought out with a smooth side and a textured side. Wasn’t sure about the bright colour initially but for the ease of cleaning and I assume therefore better longevity I am very glad I made the change.

It's a plastic mat for rolling sushi. It's well made, durable, everything I'd expect from buying a Japanese product. I bought the plastic one, because the bamboo ones sometimes go moldy. That might be my fault (hehe), but anyway the plastic one works great.

Works well - rice doesn’t stick, and it goes in the dishwasher.

I've always used the wooden one, which was much better than this plastic one. The main flaw is that it's not very flexible, to make a roll you have to have a very flexible mat, with this plastic one it's very hard so you can't roll quickly. I thought it was very useful because plastic lasts longer and is more comfortable to wash, but in fact it's not.

Not suitable for commercial

A primo impatto sembra duro ma basta arrotolarlo nel verso opposto a quello in cui arriva. Arrotolandolo stretto in entrambe le direzioni diventa piatto e nettamente più morbido. La struttura a listelli permette di fare pieghe ad angolo, ottimo per dare la forma quadrata agli uramaki. Ero scettico sull'antiaderenza della superficie goffrata ma devo dire che funziona! Ottima stuoia, davvero consigliata!
