How long will these last?

So far, my mother's have survived 6 mos. of nursing home washing/drying on EXTREMELY HIGH heat. Her clothes are being destroyed, but the labels are not!

How do these prevent the marker from washing off and staining my clothes?

I use a permanent marker. The ink won't smear or stain after ink is dry. Ink and labels have lasted through dozens of wash and dry cycles.

Will these work on crochet and knitted garments?

What you could try is to mark what you want on the label, iron the label on a piece of ribbon, then sew the piece of ribbon to the knitted garment.

Can you remove them ?

Yes, I was able to remove them from clothes and water bottles. They were on school uniforms for about 2 years and water bottles that were ran through the dishwasher several times a week. The labels were awesome and stayed on through all the washing cycles. I had no issues when it was time to remove the labels, other than a small spot left on the clothing. Since the labels were on the inside of the clothing, it wasn't noticeable.
