Son got bored with it quickly
I got this for my son when he was about three or four. He has always showed an interest in different instruments and liked banging away on a toy keyboard we got him, loves playing the kid's percussion instruments, tooting on toy recorders and so on. We didn't have any guitar toy for him and figured he wasn't old enough for one with real strings yet. So we tried this Power House guitar. It's a pretty neat toy, but it wasn't an optimal choice for my son.The sounds come mostly from the fret bar where you can press one of four or five different buttons to play out various rock guitar chords. To play a solo riff you press down on the whammy bar. Aside from those buttons and the volume control that's about it. It's not bad, but for my kid after he jammed on it once or twice he got bored with it. I am thinking he would prefer something with real strings to strum on. A year later he ended up with a ukulele his Godmother got him, and this year we got him a small guitar. He's very pleased with that.So I would recommend this to kids with a passing fancy with the rock guitar, and who are more into pretending to rock out on stage more than actually wanting to know how to play a real guitar. As an air band/pretend rocker I think this would work great. Just be aware this is a far cry from anything close to the real thing.

Utter junk
Got two of these for my kids for Christmas. One didn't work at all right out of the box, and the other one made awful noises that didn't resemble anything close to a guitar. I can only assume that the sound processor was broken. Luckily, we tested them before actually giving them as presents so we didn't have the experience of giving my kids broken toys, but still. They are complete junk. Do not waste your money. These were sold through a third party on Amazon - Raye's Market - and I question why they would sell and ship 2 obviously defective items. I returned both and got my money back, but the hassle of the whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth.

Heart broken parent
Its a pretty ! mine was red and black! Very Nice color! But honesty i did not like it because i know a lot about toy guitars and this one is extremely annoying! Don't buy this for your kids or anybody else! There are better products out there! Let the good times roll? Yeah right! Ok! What ever you say! Stick with your motorcycles and get out of the toy business please! Don't disappoint a kid!

Nice idea, poor quality
This guitar was grand for a day, then stopped working. Every time a button was pressed, all we got was static. Tried replacing batteries but that did not help. This is the second product by Kid Toyz that did not hold up - a Kawasaki (Kid Toyz) keyboard did the exact same thing. I returned the product and I will not buy another item from this brand.

Do not buy if you want it to play music
This guitar is fun to dance around with and pretend to play, but if you want the music that it is supposed to play, don't bother.Like other reviews ours stopped working within 2 minutes out of the box. I even tried new batteries.Thankfully Amazon has a good return policy, but better not to waist your time.
