We have an elderly shih tzu that is 17 years old. For a while she was eating the Nutro Ultra Senior dog food for small breeds the kibble size, all of the sudden, she decided she wasn't interested in it anymore, we figured out she had trouble chewing it, it was too hard for her to eat anymore, then i got worried i didn't know what to feed her, i went to petsmart to look around, sooo many i couldn't decide, internet same thing so many dog foods, so confusing, so i just figured she liked the Nutro she was eating it for a long time, i thought i would just stick with it for her and just crush the kibble and mix it with the Nutro Pate so she would get some protein, and it worked well, she loves the pate and the kibble, she stands at her bowl and waits for me to feed her. Only bad thing is she goes through these so fast, and they are expensive to get, but to us its well worth it for our elderly dog she deserves only the best, and we truly believe this is the best dog food for our 17 year old dog. Sadly our dog passed away recently, if it was not for this mushy food she would have stopped eating along time ago, i wanted to keep these pictures here for a little bit longer. We truly believe this food kept her alive so she could be with us as long as she was.

My 10-year-old dog's appetite decreased and he was losing too much weight after a cardiac incident that resulted in 3 daily meds for the rest of his life. My vet recommended adding wet food for both his appetite and the added calories, so naturally I turned to the wet version of his regular food - Nutro Ultra Small Breed Adult/Senior. He LOVES this stuff and his weight is back up where it should be. I never thought after 10 years of being a "grazer" he would become a breakfast and dinner eater, but he has. I can get three servings out of each little container, one in the morning, one at night, and one the next morning, and hide little chunks among his dry food (in a slowdown bowl) and he stays and eats the whole serving until it's gone, and then never seems hungry between meals anymore. I like that I can buy a case to last over a month, and they are easy enough to throw in a Ziploc bag if we're visiting friends or family, and I don't even feel bad throwing one away if we're going to be in the car too long for it to last, because the price is so good. He loves licking the spoon I use to scoop it out, as well as the bottom of the container after each third serving.

We recently adopted a 3-year old 5-pound Yorkie from our local shelter. The staff there warned us that she was a very finicky eater. I knew I should try this with her, as it has worked with my other finicky rescue dogs in the past. Sure enough she loves it and begs for it. We plan on weaning her from this to Nutro Max Grain-Free Mini Chunk Adult Recipe with Farm-Raised Chicken Dry Dog Food, that our other 3 tiny Chihuahuas are eating, and leaving this wet food for illnesses and what not (as it can get expensive). My 3 Chihuahuas were once finicky and made this transition as well. I trust Nutro for all of my pets. My cat stopped being sick when I switched her to Nutro cat food. You can't go wrong.

When we first adopted our toothless senior Pom, she was too nervous to eat. I went out and attempted to buy food so good she couldn’t resist. This did the trick! We switch between this one, the adult small breed, and the salmon. I did a lot of research and believe this is the best option for her health, too. Because she has no teeth, I put it on a plate charger and break it up with a fork. I order 2-3 cases a month, and it’s a lot cheaper than buying the single trays at the pet store.

Since ChaChi had all his teeth removed a year ago, he can only eat wet food. He loves this food and I will continue to buy it. I like the variety pack so he can get a different taste every day.

I am so upset, I do not even know how to rate this. I have a 16 year old Bichon. His name is Chanel. He has very little time left, thus this will be his last New Years. I opened the box from Amazon to prepare his food... it was the wrong kind.Needed the Ultra chicken lamb & salmon. But recieved Nutro feed clean Cuts in Gravy simmered beef & potato stew. It is not only a different flavor, it is a different consistency. At His age & health, feeding him this will make him extremely ill. The store in town that MIGHT have what I need, is closed for New Years Eve. I rechecked the order... we ordered correctly. This is such a horrible situation and nothing I can do. Only choice is to let him go hungry or feed him something that will make him sick.

There is something wrong with this dog food. My dog wanted to eat it, so it must be tasty, but he has consistently been sick after eating it. I though it was too rich, so I only gave him half the container at a time. That didn't matter. I don't think I can return this, but I won't feed it to him anymore. I don't recommend this product at all.

Do not feed to your dog. It causes random cardiomyopathy. My dog had no signs of heart issues (was at the vet the same day for a dermatology appointment, the week prior for her annual wellness and passed away within 3 hours due to DCM.
