Good sweetener choice in fermentation.
I need a specialty sweetener and Erythritol Sugar Free Sweetener fits the bill. I make homemade wines, beers, and ciders. For some ciders, I wish to carbonate and sweeten them. If you know about this process, you know that carbonation and sweetening simultaneously is quite difficult for the home brewer who does not have additional (expensive) equipment. You risk exploding your bottles with ordinary fermentable sugars. Erythritol is an alcohol-based sugar that will not ferment with standard brewing yeasts. It has a good, natural taste and has no discernible after-taste. It will also work for sweet fruit-based wines. I recommend it for these uses. If you make or want to make ciders, etc., I would recommend you start small and experiment with erythritol at varying strengths to see if you like its taste and can find the proper amount of sweetness for you. This is a very viable answer to sweet homemade ciders and wines. And it is not outrageously expensive!

Great replacement for sugar
I bought this because I'm a baker and have many friends who must watch their blood sugar levels closely. Because I don't want any of my friends to feel left out or deprived, I decided to give this a try. It works very well, but as soon as the cookies or cakes are baked, I must keep a close eye on them until they're cool enough to store in an air-tight plastic bag. Air must be suctioned from plastic bag to prevent baked goods from drying out & hardening very quickly. Erythritol does not retain moisture like sugar can, but it does work well in salad dressings, cheesecake & anything that's moist. My friends love it.

Not as sweet as my regular brand but it mixes better
Normally I have been buying the Whole Earth Sweetener Company brand of erythritol but when it was out of stock, I switched to the Sweet Nature brand because it was the same amount (5lbs) and nearly the same price as my Whole Earth brand. This is actually the second time that I've had to pick an alternative brand of erythritol but since I'm perfectly happy with the Whole Earth brand (other than it not being in stock this time) the change worked out well. The taste of the Sweet Nature erythritol is basically the same as the Whole Earth brand but it's also where I have a minor complaint: it requires about a half a teaspoon more than the heaping teaspoon I use with the Whole Earth erythritol. It's also why I gave it four stars instead of five Overall and on Value. Since it does require a bit more to achieve the same amount of sweetening power as the Whole Earth brand, in the long run you'll use more of it for the same price. Hence, the reason why I gave Value four stars. On the flip side, I gave five stars to its Blending Power since it does mix somewhat easier and faster than the Whole Earth brand. In fact, it might also be the reason why its sweetening power is less than the Whole Earth brand. I usually stir my coffee fairly well after adding erythritol to it, so it's ability to dissolve is not really an issue for me. Right before i wrote this review, I noticed that Amazon has gotten the Whole Earth brand back in stock, so when I run out of this, I'll switch back to it.If you're thinking about trying erythritol for the first time or looking for another brand to buy and you plan on using it mainly for cooking or in cold beverages, the Sweet Nature brand might be the better choice because it blends more completely than the Whole Earth brand. If you're mainly using it to sweeten hot drinks and/or hot foods, then buy the Whole Earth brand because you'll use less of it and may find the taste closer to sugar than this brand.By the way, erythritol is the only sweetener that is not metabolized in the liver which makes it a healthy alternative to sugar and other sugar substitutes..

Very little sweetness
I had to use 3Xs my usual sugar tsps to get decent sweetness, so not worth the money. Tastes fine, but I need more value from my purchase.

Good product, great value
I'm very pleased with it. Texture is just like sugar, and it taste sweet. I use it in my coffee and to sweeten my greek yogurt for desserts. It is a large bag, that can be difficult to close. A pour spout would be great.
