good controller, just a bit cheap
I had a my sega for over 20 years, the controller finally bit the dust. I hate the nasty ones you find at pawn shops. Which most likely wont work anyway. I have the original controller, but the cord is even shorter than the ones on these. Overall, these controllers work. I play all my favorite games, and it hasn't broke, I don't see how people can have a problem with these breaking unless they are the hulk. haha.

Cheap... But fixable
Please read the update below as well.Well, the controller I received was not the one in the picture. The d-pad doesn't register well when I try to go up or left. I probably could fix it by opening the controller to beef up the contacts. If you are will to pay 5$ more, then buy the real controller used. You have a better chance of getting a good used controller than a good knock off. The biggest downside to this controller is that I could used that 5$ toward getting a real controller. The buttons on this controller were decent and the plug fit well in the wii adapter I bought. I don't have a real genesis.UPDATE. I fixed the d- pad problem with scotch tape. It was so simple to fix that a really can't complain. Still not the original but close enough... By the way if anyone was looking at getting this for the wii 4-in-1 retro adapter, here is a news flash. It DOESN'T work with 6 button controllers, so if that is the reason you are getting this, don't bother. And don't bother getting a first party six button either because it just doesn't work with that adapter. Only A, B, and C work with the retro 4-in-1 adapter, so find a 3 button controller, 1st party or not.

Cheap knock-offs... but that's actually just what I was looking for
I ordered two of these. As other reviewers have said, these are indeed cheap imitations of the authentic Genesis/Megadrive 6-button controllers. Build quality is definitely subpar. The buttons are both loose feeling and mushy, and the d-pad is not crisp and precise either. I definitely wouldn't play a fast-paced competitive fighting game on them. The connectors also didn't fit into the ports on the Genesis quite as well as original first-party Sega controllers, or higher-end third-party controllers. They were a tad snug. However, with all of that being said, that's exactly what I expected when I ordered them. They're brand-new, they're cheap, and they're fully-functional. I still own and use two original Sega controllers for myself, but I had a friend with an old working Model 1 Genesis and no controllers. If you're rough on a controller, or if you want/need want the best quality controllers, look elsewhere. If you just need something cheap that works, these fit the bill.

NHL'94 best video hockey game ever
Well it continues into its 20th year, Sega NHL'94 equipment--- An electronic game that endures for this long is shear genius! I am 65 yrs old, and have played EA Sports' NHL'94 since its release, before Christmas 1993! Only the Sega version is the complete package. This new controller is very responsive to my moves, like shooting with Selanne in traffic, works every time. One timers from Modano are perfect... I did notice the directional moves on the controller, especially when checking, is not as good, but it is still "good". Sometimes my checking player would continue away from the intended check, even though I tried to change the direction to deliver the bone crunching check. No matter, my love of a good offensive controller makes up for that minor flaw. On offense, the controller has it all!...you can quote me! Buz hockey Eldredge, Glens Falls NY

This is the worst controller ever made.
Typically, I don't write reviews, but when I do it's because the product is terrible. (Btw, I bought new).So I get home after pawn shopping my way around town.I noticed that a package arrived with my Genesis Composite cable and this controller.I opened the box, and the Composite cable greeted me with a hearty hello firmly and protectively wrapped in plastic. On the other hand, there was this box within the box that held this 5.5 inch monstrosity. How was the controller packaged? Well get this, the box that it comes in came loose (possibly during shipping) revealing the crap that lay within and it was apparently trying to molest my Composite cables with it's horribleness. So I take the controller out of the already opened box and noticed that this piece of tihs has buttons that move about a centimeter when you pick it up or move it around. Unacceptable.D-Pad moves a little on it's own. Unfathomable. The "mode" button is a cheap flat button, not kidding, that requires enough force to break this controller.Calling this a controller is an insult to controllers. This should be banned along with all of them burned. We need to -cide this garbage. I'd put this in my trash, but my trash would be ashamed to have it in it. I think the only logical choice is to throw this in the fireplace, but that would require too much effort to spend on it. After all, the effort put into the creation of this monstrosity is bottom of the barrel lazy.Unlike other people though, I do find that that the cord length is sufficient. One last thing. On the reverse of the controller, you will find a sticker that says "Q.C. Passed". I died of laughter.Don't buy this controller. Seriously.

Excellent Controller From Another Era
Excellent Controller From Another EraThis controller took a moment to get connected properly to my old genesis due to the difference of controller type. That and my console has been collecting dust. Functioning as it should and serving as an excellent controller providing responsive buttons and reasonable cable length.
