Hands down, this is the finest candle I've ever had the pleasure of owning! That irresistible, natural scent of freshly baking bread is simply my all-time favorite aroma, and since I'm not a baker by trade or hobby, I'd always felt completely stumped about how to bring that comforting fragrance into my home. I remember last year, I stumbled upon a vanilla-pretzel candle from a different brand, and I absolutely fell in love with it, but unfortunately, it's been discontinued, leaving me heartbroken, therefore, I was absolutely THRILLED when I discovered this candle; it truly, and I mean truly, captures the essence of baking bread! Honestly, anyone who claims otherwise clearly has some serious olfactory issues! The moment I light this candle, it instantly transforms my entire house into the coziest, most inviting space imaginable. The scent projection/throw is absolutely phenomenal – it fills the entire room with that warm, comforting aroma. Beyond the incredible fragrance, it also burns remarkably slowly and cleanly, without leaving any unsightly wax residue on the sides of the jar. There's absolutely no wasted wax, which means this candle provides an incredibly long-lasting and delightful experience. You most definitely get a tremendous amount of value for your money with this candle – it's an investment in pure, unadulterated happiness and coziness.

Great aroma so far, i accidentally bought this candle, i normally avoid village candles because they normally dont smell like what they advertise and they normally dont smell very good. This candle is an exception. Normally i would stick with Yankee, but this buttered bread candle gets an exception.

Smells like bread!!!

Been really into burning lots of candles this winter to embrace the coziness of the season, after I stumbled on the Scottish idea of “coorie,” cousin to the more-viral Danish “hygge.” So I’ve bought a lot of candles, many sizes and many different brands - and Village Candle stands out as the best brand to me. The candles are big and last a really long time, honestly pretty affordable for how long they last and the fact that they are very good burning quality (unlike some other brands where the wax swallows the wick halfway down the candle and you have to try to dig it out). All the flavors I’ve gotten have been great too - but omg I’m obsessed with this buttery bread one haha! Have you ever eaten a buttered popcorn flavor jellybean? Basically like that. I love it. Also really love the maple butter and the pumpkin scarecrow! Really enjoyed some of the seasonal Christmas ones too for myself, plus this holiday I got some different flavors of the candles along with sweet treats for gifts and people loved them. I also really like that it’s a small company based in Maine. Five stars, please don’t ever go out of business you guys bc I really love these candles a lot!! <3

Amazon box arrived intact but taping was applied loosely. Opened the box to find 4 individual boxes w/the company’s name on them, Village Candle, & a label with the type & scent of the candles. As I began to open each box, I saw shards of broken glass on the bottom of the Amazon shipping box. One of the 4 candles was completely broken/shattered in its individual box so much I just left it in its box. Pieces of glass already came out of its box & was on the bottom of the Amazon box so it would have made more of a mess &/or possibly cut myself or a family member. I opened the other 3. There was an ‘oily’ type of film on the rims of the jars & the glass lids. However, I had hoped that the 3 that weren’t broken would fill my home (or at least one room) w/the scent of warm buttered toast. Not only did the 3 candles NOT smell like warm buttered toast, but the had no scent AT ALL!! Nothing! I’ve purchased candles before (from all different stores/places, not just Amazon) where the scent didn’t smell like what it should have smelled like, but they at least smelled like something! I burned the 3 remaining candles for approximately 2 hrs…. Nothing. These candles are a complete waste of money. I’ve purchased candles that cost a few dollars that were not nearly as cheaply made as these candles, & they at the very least had some aroma to them! I would have just returned the broken jar candles in it’s original box for obvious reasons, & kept the remaining 3 if they smelled like the scent described. Even if they didn’t smell like their description, I may have kept them if they had some kind of decent aroma. But these were a big waste of money for 4 completely unscented (& one totally shattered!), cheaply made, slippery from that ‘oil like’ film on the top of the jars & on their glass top lids. No way was I going to not return them. The 3 intact candles were useless. I’ve purchased candles so many times through Amazon from different companies for years & not once did I ever receive complete crap like these candles. I would not recommend these candles to anyone. Very disappointed. Like the candles having ZERO scent, I’d give them ZERO stars.

Smelled great at first. Then lost much of its warm buttered bread aroma the very next day. Disappointed.

to the guy who said this candle sucks, thank you because you returning a bunch of them probably was the reason I finally was able to order one. and oh man are you WRONG! this candle smells like fresh baked bread. my living room is a panera bread now. this is the coziest candle i’ve ever found. it’s so good you can almost taste it!

First candle was a melted mess. The 2nd (and 3rd, 4th) were in great condition. They all smell like bread, not yeast, but bread. I lean over all the time to smell the scent, it's so freaking good

This candle is amazing. It smells lovely cold and even nicer when burning, it pools nicely and the throw is fanatastic, so so happy with my purchase and will definitly be buying more Village in the future.

This is a very unique scented candle and is able to produce a total mimic of a fresh baguette smell. It's also surprisingly powerful.
