Pricey but worth it!
I'm an avid user of home assistant and IoT, hence the reasoning for looking at connected devices. Appreciate this is pricey and requires its own proprietary hub, but the piece of mind that no matter where you are, you'll get an alert if an alarm goes off to me is worth it. It also routinely tests the network and system to ensure all is working as expected. Super easy to install with various sized holes in the plate for drilling, and then just twist and lock the alarm which automatically turns it on. Had for a number of months now and no issues with connectivity or false alarms, also connected to a FireAngel CO alarm and an upstairs FireAngel smoke alarm which will all trigger each other if alarming. I would like to see an API for integration into Home Assistant / Home Kit etc. But can't fault the product. You pay for what you get, and in this case its a very reliable and first-class alarm which shouldn't be compromised

Very good, but only once you know the trick on how to test them properly!
These are great, and I really want to give the 5*, but I can't - not quite. I've got three. They are relatively easy to install - just screw the base to the ceiling and clip in. Takes minutes. However, they essential function is to link them so they all alert together - that's what you pay the extra for the Pro version for. It took me a couple of hours of frustration and a call to their helpline to confirm that they were linked properly. The linking procedure seems fairly simple, but on testing them I got variable results - sometimes the other alarms would sound, sometimes not... The trick, it turns out, is a very subtly worded part of the manual. Once linked, when you test them, you need to just dab the button on one VERY briefly. If you do that then they will all sound the alarm. However, if you hold down the button for more than the briefest moment, the test applies only to that alarm and the others won't sound. Until you know this, testing them is darn near impossible. I even returned one as faulty before I learning this as I was sure it wasn't working (it probably was - just that the test procedure isn't crystal clear). To be fair, in some ways the lesson is to read EVERY WORD of the manual, but frankly this is an important aspect so they really should have made this much clearer in the manual.

Fire Angle fire alarm
I wanted to interlink the smoke and heat alarms in my house without having to lift floors etc, I ordered two fire angle R pro 10 year battery smoke alarms and a fire angle R pro mains powered heat alarm, the alarms were well packaged and all fitting instructions were Easy to follow , all the alarms paired easily through the house WiFi and all are working perfectly. I am happy with the alarms and intend to buy more fire angle alarms for the rest of my house

Review 4 years on - utter garbage!
Absolute utter garbage. Refitted our house, at considerable cost, with the interlinked Fireangel system. In addition to the hub we bought several smoke alarms, the heat kitchen sensor alarm, and the carbon monoxide alarm. Fast forward 4 years and a host of faulty devices, countless false alarms (usually during the night or when you're out the house) and multiple gateway failures - and we have a system that is so unreliable it fails at its base task. It is no longer a safety device, since we now presume it'll be yet another false alarm it is in fact it is more dangerous than having no smoke alarm system at all - especially if you're out of the house and can't physically check the area, long gone are the days of us rushing home in a panic. Little by little the system has failed - this week was the final straw as we found ourselves driven insane by a random beeping from an alarm we can't identify and it isn't even showing up on the system as going off. We have ended up buying old fashioned standalone battery fire alarms once more. (We had already bought a portable carbon monoxide tester a year or so ago when we realised their CO2 alarm is also not reliable). In short - if you want to recreate the scene from the episode of Friends where Phoebe takes a hammer to the smoke alarm that is constantly going off - then this is the system for you. Otherwise steer clear!!!

Fantastic Service and Product
I wouldn't normally write a review but I think this lot deserve the feedback. I had a new internet connection installed this week and it's been going up and down a lot which is causing connectivity issues for the Fireangel gateway. Someone from support raised a ticket and contacted me today to make sure that everything was ok as my alarms were all offline. I'm not paying for this service other than the initial outlay for the device so I'm really impressed with this level of customer service. I've had these alarms installed for a few months now and they have been fantastic, the CO sensor in the kitchen was triggered by a candle, so extremely sensitive and nice to know it's working. Had another heat alarm when opening a very hot oven, my fault for putting it too close but again, works like a charm and all the alarms in the house triggered at the same time. No issue with battery life or connectivity with any of the alarms. The app alerted me very quickly when these events occurred, very impressed. It took 10 mins for 2 smoke alarms, 1 heat alarm, 2 CO sensors, 1 central control unit and the gateway so very easy to setup.

Great system, but missing basic features to be called a "smart" smoke alarm!
A good reliable and well built alarm, build quality feels great and was easy to setup. Unfortunately I felt calling this a "smart" alarm wasn't really justified! While the app works, can easily connect and view all your devices and get a notification if an alarm.......that's pretty much its only features. It lacks even some basic features I would of liked to see in a "smart" smoke alarm for example the ability to silence any alarms from the app. Or even the ability to trigger a alarm test from the app, these basic features are non existent. So while I do like the alarms, what really lets it down is the feature lacking and also poorly maintained app. If you want a very basic alarm system and don't plan to use any smart features then a great system! If you were looking for more of the smart features from the app or even sharing with friends & family then this is not the system for you.

Awful to set up - may work well but need to complete setup
Bought a gateway to manage my existing 7 alarm setup in the house. Took some time to find instructions and download the app. Within the app, registration challenging - kept on refusing to accept my details with no error message. Inexplicably worked at the fourth or fifth attempt. Managed to register the gateway on the app, but the app won’t let you connect to an existing network, you need to do this via the web based installation “wizard”. I didn’t want the hassle of taking down 7 devices and reregistering them so went to the “wizard” Logged in, found my account, but then anything else resulted in “Oops - Something went wrong. Please refresh this page to continue” Tried another browser with the same result, so called the helpline. the lady who answered couldn’t help, referred it to someone else and came back to me an hour later saying they don’t know why this happened and I need to individually pair all 7 alarms again through the app. Awful experience so far. Need to wait until the dogs are out on a walk to repair all the devices as the noise distresses them
