I bought this for my daughter who is half Puerto Rican and half Italian. Unlike me, she is not too familiar with Puerto Rico. This book made her giggle and the illustrations caught her attention. I really enjoyed sharing this story with her and seeing her engage in certain aspects of my childhood (ei. piraguas!).Also, my husband does not speak Spanish so the fact that the book is written in both languages (with a glossary for Spanish words) is perfect!!

I used this book at my son's nursery school for a presentation on Puerto Rico. The children loved the story and pictures. I am glad this book helped to show children the beauty of Puerto Rico. Many thanks!

Beautiful book full of detail and facts,

I could not imagine experiencing the island of Puerto Rico and la isla nena, Vieques, without the melodious presence of Caribbean roosters and Coquis! We are about to start a family and are excited to read this book with our child to introduce him to the magic of Coquis, in both English and Spanish ~ a lovely story, sending a message to embrace and accept differences as part of the beauty of life. Illustrations are beautiful too.

We visited Puerto Rico and loved the song of the coqui's and wanted to get our kids a book that told their story. This book is a super cute story about how the coquis found their place on the island and the songs they sing. We really enjoy reading it to the kids and the illustrations are great.

Very cute story and like that one side is English and other is Spanish. Perfect gift for kids.
