Cheap, fits, reliable. Highly recommended
Surprisingly good adapter, had a 189€ Novoflex, a 39€ kiwi, a 19€ china adapter before; in my opinion thats the best ef-cy adapter of the bunch. Fits very good and tight, but build quality is rather bad compared to the novoflex. Who cares, when it costs 14€= 1/10 with shipping costs of the price of a novoflex? 189€ for an adapter, which is a simple metal ring is just insane. AND the fotodiox fits like it should, no play, no bulls***. With the chinese I even had Mirror lock up issues. Tested on Canon 5d II, 5d III, Canon C100. Lenses: 50 1.4 100 2.0 18mm 4.0, all AEG Version made in germany. There is no possibility to install a Dandelion Chip on the surface of the adapter.

Works very well with Yashica ML Lens
I purchased two of these adapters for fitting my old Yashica lenses to my new Canon EOS 60D. They work perfectly. I was somewhat skeptical about whether this would work after some of the reviews I read but it was pleasantly surprised to find there was no problem. Of course there is no autofocus but careful manual focus makes up for that. My two Yashica lenses that I adapted are the 50 mm 1.7 and a 400mm Spiratone of 1980's vintage. It is nice to get to use these again after 15+ years. I have gotten some very fine photographs with the 50 mm lens. Haven't done much with the 400mm yet but limited use indicates fairly decent photos. These adapters go on and off quite smoothly without a hitch. I highly recommend this adapter if you want to get some use from your Contax/Yashica lens on a Canon EOS camera.

buy a better mount
I bought this to mount a 50mm F1.8 Zeiss T* lens to my Canon EOS T1i. Precision is everything in these mounts and I thought that I might get a bargain here. Unfortunately, the mount has a lot of play on the Zeiss lens, which is unacceptable. Those problems you may have read about with infinity focus apply here. I did, however, buy a Fotodiox Lens Mount Adapter with Dandelion AF Focus Confirmation Chip - 42mm Screw Mount, M42 Lens to Canon EOS adapter, for Canon 1d,1ds,Mark II, III, IV 5D, 5D Mark II, 7D, 10D, 20D, 30D, 40D, 50D, Rebel xt, xti, xs, xsi, t1i, T2i, 300D, 350D, 400D, 4... - and it is superior in every way. Using a 50mm f1.8 Super Takomar made in the mid 1960s, I was surprised to find that the AF confirmation chip worked! Amazing.

fotodiox saves the day
The fotodiox lens adapters for the manual focus Contax Zeiss lenses originally supplied with cameras like the RTS II is a Godsend. The material is strong and well machined, and fits the backs of the lenses like a precision glove. As for the Canon Camera body fit, it's surprisingly excellent and confidence inspiring. Spending so little to gain such fine glass as the 85mm 1.4 Planar (136mm on the xxD), the 25mm 2.8 Distagon (40mm on the xxD), 50mm 1.4 Planar (80mm on the xxD) or the 135mm 2.8 Sonnar (216mm on the xxD series) is wonderful. I always wanted a digital back for my camera, and with the fotodiox adapters, the price for it has plummeted to the cost of a digital camera body. Keep in mind that only the 5D, 5D Mark II or III or the 1D series full frame camera bodies will afford you the full coverage of the lens at it's stated focal length. The 20-60D series will make of your lenses a longer focal length (whatever the mm is times 1.6). I was tempted to consider buying the EF-S 10-22mm Canon zoom to make up for the fact that the 20D I have makes my wide-angle-25 into a normal-40, (the 10-22 Canon is really a 16-32 on the 20-60D) but that lens can't be used on the better 5D's or 1D's. And, at 800 bucks or so, it's the same price as a good used 5D , and I get my 25mm back. All in all getting a fotodiox adapter for each of your Zeiss lenses is a no brainer.

Great adapter, hard to get off!
Item came in a cheap packaging and plastic wrap thing (Factory box) but it doesn't matter because it's all metal! The thing is SOLID, it's nice and heft. If I needed to, I would trust a zeis lens on this thing cause it's a hefty and nice piece of metal. Went right onto my t3i and I have no issues with the lens performing and not hitting the mirror. I don't know how this is for full frame people so BE CAREFUL! Overall great built, great quality. It's getting 4 stars due to the difficulties in getting it off, it's not very easy. There's a spring type lever that holds it in place, it's hard to get the lens off but it's easy to get all of it off of my camera so that's no problem. If you don't plan on using the lens on a 35mm again, then don't worry about this :)

Buy them, they work
For the price you are not going to find an easier solution to getting your CZ on a canon mount. Now, for the most part all of my adapters have been pretty spot on. There are variances in fit from lens to lens. For me, these are intended to be a temporary solution until I permanently change the mount on the lenses. That said I have had the adapters in many working situations and have yet to be disappointed. A couple of times there has been an issue with focusing to infinity but I believe that was a lens collimation issue and not the adapter. I would suggest these adapters, for their price and availability.

Great, but not perfect
It's good, but not great. I owe a set of Contax Zeiss lenses and while ye build of this adapter is very well made, when mounted, there's a bit of movement when you focus... won't bother overall, but in very precise small focus adjustments could be a pain. This is still the best option before switching mounts (Leitax),

Funciona y cumple

fantastic
despite the complaints. the pro mount has fantastic build quality much better than the standard one. No play in lens mount, no light leaks, and a few other plus's, and at 40 dollars to let me use my contax lenses, and it is worth every penny.
