slim and solid, well thought out simplicity
Nice knife. Feels solid despite its light weight and slim dimensions. The sounds upon opening or closing are a solid thunk and click, not a metallic ting and nor plasticky snap. It’s not a fidget king, but surprisingly, it’s still fun to manipulate. The only thing hindering the fidget-fun is the Tri-Ad back lock which of course requires two hands. Opening is achievable via a thumb-roll, or even a thumb flick - if you’re vigorous and lucky. Two interesting differences in this knife: 1) the distance is a bit longer between the thumbstud and the pivot point, making it thumb-rollable with the ball of one’s thumb, not just the tip of your thumb. Seems to work very nicely, but that may just be a match for my hand size. The thumbstud is noticeably chunky for a smaller knife, but it still seems to look proportional, and it works very well. And 2) the blade’s visual finish is unique among any modern knives I’ve seen. The metal surface looks like a micro-tiny replica of the flaky finish of old-fashioned zinc-galvanized metal garbage can. But the blade is still completely smooth, not perceivably textured. Kinda neat and unique. The kiridashi blade shape is a little graceless in its straight lines and angularity, but it makes for a mighty useful all-around utility blade. It'll be easy to sharpen. Mechanics will appreciate its nylon pocket clip that won’t scratch when they lean into a car’s body paint. The nylon Griv-Ex scales are adequately grippy, not slippy. The whole thing fits the hand comfortably.

Nice utility folder
For just around $30 this is a very nicely made no frills utility pocket knife. The steel is a fairly basic stainless steel being 4116 stainless. Nope it's not going to hold an edge forever, but it will be very easy to sharpen and have moderate toughness. The straight blade makes it easy to sharpen as well. It's also a nice size for daily carry. The handle is large enough to give my xl hands very secure grip. The nylon pocket clip is a little weird but it does the job and hopefully it will hold up. The lock will be strong and reliable and is ambidextrous. I'm able to open it and close it one-handed. I added a few pics as well as a short video, I hope this was helpful. My verdict, this is a nice basic pocket knife well worth the price.

Great work knife for a mechanic
So I got this because of the blade design and the fact that as a mechanic I like the plastic pocket clip. It was advertised as having 4034 steel and I was ok with that. To my surprise it has 4116 steel, slightly better. Look man, it's a cheap work knife, very sharp out of the box. With tax and delivery im out 25 bucks for an excellent box cutter or whatever you want to cut. IT WILL CUT. I own a pretty extreme knife collection and this guy is not using a 500 dollar knife to cut stuff at work. Just get one.

Cute knife. Belt clip sucks.
If it weren't for the belt clip this knife would be 5/5 must have. The clip is made out of similar plastic as the handle. It's not of question of if it will snap but when. I was going to return it for this very reason but it's such a nice little knife with a lovely edge. It's also not advised to switch clips because the plastic clip is specifically designed to cover a sizable portion of the knife handle. Without that specific plastic clip the knife would look like it's missing a chunk of its handle. If you don't care about the clip then this is gonna be a great knife for you. The clip itself is also rather flush so it allows for a decent grip on such a petite knife.

Great knife!
Nice knife can't go wrong with cold steel.

So Much More Than The Sum Of Its Parts...
Very sharp out of the box and has a solid mechanical lock-up. The blade is functional and centered, plus the handle has excellent ergonomics. The Kiridaski feels like it's worth a lot more than the $23.99 I paid for it!

Meh... Not the worst... Definitely not the best...
Out of the box, the knife was not very sharp. It struggled to cut cardstock cleanly. I resharpened the blade on a 600/1200 grit diamond stone and then stropped it. After that, the blade was cutting newspaper cleanly. The handle ergonomics are barely passable. The pocket clip has a positive grip on your pants but is too chunky for my tastes. It's a passable utility knife that could be utilized for fine cutting tasks, but it would definitely not be my first choice. I do like that the blade comes with a beefy thumb stud, which is great for easy opening. It's a budget knife, but there are other choices out there that are much better.

So nice I had to buy it twice!!
The blade geometry alone is worth the price. The knife is well built and the ergonomics are great. I've used it to rough out figurines in 1"X6" Basswood blocks and perform some of the detail carving up until I need something like a U gouge. This was the first time I have ever purchased a Cold Steel product, so I didn't like the handle at first, but changed my mind as I was using it and it keeps the knife very light and it is a tough material that will not warp. Same material used for the lower receiver part of many pistols. My son liked it so much he took the first one I bought. He used it to SHAVE for the first time, which I thought was hilarious. It was sharp out of the box but I did strop it before he took it. To the Cold Steel team: I love this knife and hope you come out with nicer versions. As a wood carver I appreciate this blade geometry and could see a version with a shorter and thinner blade.. "Skinny Kiridashi". Maybe a dual bladed handle with both blades on it. I can always dream right?! At the very least build it with all the features of the GRiK and the better metal. I also bought a Grik afterwards and like the features but prefer the Kiridashi blade geometry.

Un poco decepcionado del triad lock; la navaja se abrió parcialmente en mi bolsillo y cuando metí la mano me rebanó parte del dedo como si de mantequilla se tratara.
