I'm the office champ now.
I recently started working at a firm that had a few table tennis tables for play during lunchtime.I wasn't really into it, but I did a lot of my own research and spent my own time practicing before playing with the rest of the team.I started off with a regular 3-2 ply blade with standard DHS rubber. Then I moved onto a Xiom carbon blade and this Xiom rubber. The ability to control my ball more and still have the power behind the rubber has helped me end the careers of the current office champ.Although it's not always about the rubber/blade combo, this setup has certainly helped me find what works for me. With less than 5 months of playtime, it has made a significant difference! I would recommend it for beginners!

Initial impressions after 1 month of playing with this on my forehand.
I'm a developing low- to mid-level player, USATT rating around ~1700+. I purchased this rubber in search of a lightweight and controlled offensive option. I had tried XIOM Vega Pro on a friend's setup and that rubber was a little too springy for my current level of technique.Based on reviews and comparing stats, I ordered this Vega Europe, looking for a more controlled offensive rubber. I bought black in MAX thickness sponge. The uncut sheet weighed 59g, and cut weighed ~42g (glued to a Yinhe/Galaxy T-8 blade). Compare this to the cut Vega Pro, which was ~47g. I believe if you got Vega Europe in 2.0 sponge, the cut weight would be <40g, relatively light! The sponge is soft and the top sheet is non-tacky with a nice smooth texture. I've been using the Vega Europe MAX on my FH and I have to worry less about my topspin shots landing on the table; even the higher arc shots drop onto the table near the end line. It also gives me more confidence with looping against backspin, both at the table and against long pushes/chops.The rubber has a nice sound to it and a click when you hit a heavy loop, if you're into that sort of feedback. I've read some reviews saying that with the lower throw, this is best for BH, but I'm not having many problems using it for FH. Though if I were to get it for my BH, I'd try it in the 2.0mm sponge thickness. I currently use 729 Focus III Snipe as a lightweight BH rubber, but Vega Europe 2.0 would likely be as light or lighter and provide more offensive power off the BH.Blocking is reliable; pushing isn't a problem; I'm able to get decent spin on my serves; am able to apply lots of sidespin to forehand loops; pretty good power on flat smashes.XIOM rubbers are definitely worth a try.

When gluing, it has a very different backside to most rubbers but it still does its job.
The first thing you'll notice about this rubber is when you're gluing it. The backside is black made from a material somewhat different that your usual rubbers. But don't be alarmed. It still works as it should. Just apply the glue as you would normally, let it dry for 10 minutes and the stick it on the blade. In terms of quality of the rubber I feel so-so. I'm glad it's a new rubber and I can finally put some spin back in the ball but I wouldn't say that the spin is as much as I would've hoped for. Control is good.I will try a different one next time I am replacing my rubbers.

Xiom Rubber
It's one of the best rubbers I have used so far. I've had it for a while and even though I haven't changed it in a long time.
