Wonderful budget mechanical keyboard
Such a good keyboard for the price. Its a great starter mechanical keyboard and has great customization right out of the box. There are a ton of RGB lighting options to play with. If you go download the software you can further set up custom key commands. Again great for the price!!

The keyboard is amazing , but the software is trash
I must add that the keyboard works as described. It sounds good and works as described. But there's one problem: I'm not a fan of using the FN keys and such. As a result, I downloaded the RK program. It's a disaster. The lighting mods function properly, but changing the hue is quite difficult. If you select the hue teal, it will change to purple. The RGB numbers are less effective. I tried using an RGB code from Google, and the square displayed the proper color but not the keyboard. I use it to customize the effects. The custom color wheel is completely incorrect. I give it five stars since the software can be updated . Hardware is a 4.9/5 can be better . Do I recommend to buy for just $50 (at the time) yes. It’s worth it. Red switches are red switches and work just fine for me . Browns are also amazing and work as they should . Since I game , I use reds . (Quicker actuation and less travel distance) browns are for just typing . Blues for me are horrendous . Very off topic but it’s just to help the new people that want to buy RK keyboards.

Pretty good with some unexpected issues
I received this keyboard and then saw all of the weird issues with the question mark not working and you have to hold Fn+Shift+/ to get a question mark. Let me set the record straight on this: There are two modes the keyboard works in - "Arrow mode" and "Character Mode". The keyboard ships in Arrow-Mode and you need to hold Fn+Shift in order to get the question mark. To get out of Arrow Mode and use the forward slash/Question Mark to work as intended you need to put in into Character Mode by hitting Fn+Enter. You will see the Lights flash and you can now use it as a normal keyboard. I think this is actually a pretty good idea as you have the option to use the Arrows as normal, or the Slash and Question Mark as normal without inhibiting the size. That being said I have one pretty major aesthetic issue with my keyboard. The Green and Red RGB are flip-flopped. In the Software if I choose all RED it comes out green and if I choose all GREEN it comes out red. So mixing the colors is difficult as they don't line up with the color I'm selecting. The keyboard feels good and is very smooth under my fingers. The spacebar is very sensitive, so barely resting my thumb on the spacebar activates it - so I have to be aware of that when gaming. It doesn't really affect my typing as I don't rest my thumbs on the keyboard when actively typing. The lights are very bright and there are a ton of color options and presets. Each key is individually lit so you have total control over the colors from within the software. The software is a little clunky and hard to use but I was able to figure it out without too much issue. Overall I would recommend this keyboard to anyone looking to get into mechanical keyboards. It's not super high end but for this price point it seems hard to beat.

Making the Rk Royal
I will preface this review by saying that the Rk61 in itself is not a bad keyboard to use stock. Coming from a membrane Corsair board that was more expensive at the time (K55 gamer focused) the Rk stock didn’t disappoint. Let’s start with the pros + Detachable cable for customization options + Hotswap pcb + Stabilizers came factory lubed and didn’t need to be balanced(I still holee modded but not needed imo) and stabs have 0 rattle on plate without modding + Disassembly is a breeze and uses normal screws! + Individual led per key however the pcb is a north facing led design so you could run into compatibility issues using cherry profile keycaps _____________________________________________ And now the cons before I dilute this review with personal preference -switches(Rk red) are more scratchy and snappy sounding than the common gateron reds but my main gripe is the weak clips that attach to plate. The ktt switches I swapped stay on while swapping keycaps whereas the Rk switches come off the board before the keycaps release. Easy to replace but some switch sets cost as much as this board - Keycaps. They’re okay, hollow sounding due to being shine through and cheaper abs plastic. I’d be okay to keep them but I learned oem profile is not for me. As for other cons it’s truly subjective as some will like the sound of a plastic case vs aluminum vs wood. But that’s where your mileage may vary. On a side note if you want the Rk form factor for simplicity but want a metal case the pro option is available while being slightly more expensive. Here’s my list of alterations done to the rk61 to make it royal to my preference. - Went from tray mount style to a gasket o ring mount by cutting all the supports from the inside of the case and wrapping an oring around the pcp/plate. This makes the typing feel more uniform while giving the board much more flex when pressing keys ____________________________________________ - Swapped Rk reds with lubed ktt Kang whites - Pe foam between switches and pcb - memory foam inside case to dampen sound - Stabilizers lubed and balanced(didn’t need adjustment) - a layer of pennies shrink wrapped into columns along the bottom of case for weight At the end of the day, this keyboard is a entry level budget board that will provide a platform for you to explore the world of mechanical keyboards. If you want something plug and play, this will do but you get what you pay for. If you want an affordable board to tinker with to find your personal preference; I recommend this board. I ended up using the case as a template to make my own custom wood case with the same mounting system.

Good Keyboard.
They keyboard came as expected. The RGB is very good and has many combos and stuff you can make with it. The sound on the red keys is amazing and sounds like heaven. When I first plugged it in many keys had some problems, but if you ask Chat GPT it tells you how to fix it. It was very easy to fix. Overall great keyboard.

Awesome looks, functionality and price!
My son has just started to game with a keyboard vs a controller and prefers a 60% keyboard. At 12, he was more concerned with looks and the RGB backlight but the functionality is great and he hasn’t had any problems. His older brother has also played with it as well and has given his stamp of approval too. It’s a Red keystroke so it’s not overly loud when he’s beating on the keys during a boss fight, etc—which I’m super thankful for as it can’t be obnoxious to listen to.

The only quality budget keyboard that actually matched description in my experience.
This isn't an exaggeration. Every single keyboard I bought on Amazon in the last decade was either a switch and bait scam, was completely different from description, or was an impossibly low quality, or an entirely unusable item (like one whose key cap paint completely rubbed off in under 2 months). Not this one (well, I haven't yet had 2 months to test the paint, but the rest is so far true). And right off the bat, - I'm not a big fan of red switches (just couldn't find a black keyboard in blue/brown switch variety), or of keyboards which cannot trigger CTRL+ALT+DELETE command (and some other commands) in Windows/BIOS, and this keyboard unfortunately is like that. I'm also not very appreciative of the fact that it ships in gaming mode which precludes one being able to type the Question Mark. (To turn that feature off - press Fn key and Enter, - the keyboard will flash and now you can type up documents more easily, except then you won't be able to use the "up" arrow, only the question mark, so if you want your "up" arrow - press Fn and Enter once more - how awesome that we have Subreddits, without them - I would probably be forced to assign macros in order to type normally, or ended up returning this keyboard as well because consecutive and 3-key combinations would have really gotten to me). But! The 5 stars is for the fact that despite all this, - it's a product that is of acceptable quality for the price, that actually matches its description. It's brightly lit, it has monochrome backlighting, and its letters are placed in the top section of each cap, which allows for stickers for 2 more languages to fit with ease. Top left corner would have been even more preferable (3 language stickers) but it's a start (why can't more manufacturers NOT place letters in the center?). It really is mechanical which helps my typing speed a lot, the caps are swappable, and it has the proper tool for lifting keycaps included, rather than some cheap plastic facsimile of one, or nothing. I am not well versed in the keyboard industry to know whether it's the real thing or a fake, only that in either case - the QC appears to be sufficient, and the quality is more than apparent. I kind of struggled here, in light of recent negative review system changes I honestly don't want to write reviews for Amazon any longer, however, - seeing how the overall product quality has also recently gone downhill because of them, I wanted to make an exception for this product and this seller, because I believe buyers would clearly benefit from continuing to have people like him or her and the decent products that they offer around.
