Truth or Date
I send these little stories about desert critters to my Godson who lives in London, England. I was bitten by a rattlesnake last year. He was a little frightened when he heard of the accident, so I sent this book. Seemed to make him feel a little better. That and knowing I survived the ordeal.

I should have read the product dimensions!
I ordered this book and didn't check the product dimensions. It was a much smaller picture book than I usually use in the classroom with my students. I am very disappointed that it's so small in size, since students need a large picture book to see the pictures during a read aloud. It was just as expensive as the normal size ones. Why didn't the publishers do this author justice by creating a normal-sized picture book for the classroom? Next time, I'll be sure to check the size!

ADORABLE AND INFORMATIVE
I don't usually write reviews but this book is so cute I felt compelled to comment on it. I bought it for my nephew for Christmas and it surpassed my expectations. Not only does it show empathy for snakes which most people dislike, but it gives information about them in an entertaining way. It's really an adorable book and I highly recommend it.

educational and fun!
Learning about animals can be so much fun! using a book to teach children is a wonderful way to learn and engage them. This book shows the ways of a snake in such a different view. I absolutely love the story and how the author shows the behaviors of a snake in a positive light. This is such a fun, educational and beautiful book! i would highly recommend!

Very Informative
Storad wrote another winner. Thanks for the great books about critters in our neck of the woods. Munchkin thinks this book is a good - but not scary - guide to what to do with Rattlesnakes around.

Give the Snakes a lot of room
Great book for helping kids stay safer in snake-prone areas. Lots of additional scientific info that older kids might especially enjoy.

Rattlesnakes
We received this book via NetGalley to give an honest review.I saw this book while browsing and figured that A would like to have this book read to her. She is always wanting to learn something new so this was perfect for her. Not only is this a story it is also informational about rattlesnakes.Mother snake is teaching her snakes the rules of being a rattlesnake and tips to help them stay out of trouble. With these rules, it makes it easy for kids to learn about them such as what they look like, what they eat, what happens when they shake their rattle. The pictures were good though sometimes they did not fit the pages of the page. Also, I noticed that when it would say Rule : Then there would be no number I am not sure if that was not meant to be or if it was a formatting error. So we just made sure to count what rule we were on. At the end of the book, there are some facts that let you know more about rattlesnakes if you are looking for more in-depth facts.

Generally cute book about rattlesnakes
OK, so I have hangups about anthropomorphizing animals. Totally OK in children's fiction, doesn't bother me. Not OK in children's non-fiction because, well, non-fiction. Animals aren't really people in odd skins. This is a cute, well illustrated book about rattlesnakes and how not to get bit by one. All well and good. It gets dicey for me because mama rattler is shown teaching baby rattlers the rules which, of course, is nonsense.I'd call this an OK book for the kindergarten to first grade set with the recommendation of mentioning that the part about the mama rattlesnake isn't real. Otherwise, good to go.I was provided a copy for review by the publisher.
