Great Value for the Price
Product looks great. We went with Bronze fixtures throughout the kitchen. We were shocked at the common price for most kitchen hoods, and were thrilled when we found this product.Installation if DIY can be tricky, and the installation instructions could be better. We tiled the wall first, then hung the hood, so we had to drill through the tile and mounted with molly bolts where we could not hit a stud. The chimney extension is not invisible (see photo) and will be more obvious with higher ceilings. It is not terrible, but it is not seamless. We have an 8 ft ceiling, which meant that 2 inches of the extension are visible. We used a bit of molding that we painted bronze to tie the hood into the crown molding. Wrapping the seam with a bit of metal stripping painted bronze would look fine given a 10 ft ceiling.

Looks awesome
I bought this for my wife over a year ago when remodeling started. I finally got it installed recently. It looks and works perfect. We've been using it for a few weeks now and we absolutely love it. No more foggy kitchen windows lol. The 2 lights are bright enough. I was a little concerned when installing it only had 2. It's not very loud. Our window AC makes more of a ruckus. Installation was easy and like several people have said before the instructions are vague. When in doubt go to YouTube. Plenty of videos for assistance. As far as damage goes. There were 2 little marks on the protective film by the blue readout. Fortunately the marks didn't hurt the surface under. I would most definitely recommend this product to anyone looking to update/remodel

Beautiful hood, directions pretty poor
This hood is really beautiful and easy to install...but the installation directions are really poor. While you should install in studs or nailers, you can use drywall toggle bolts (NOT included with the hood, but you can find them in hardware stores. If you’ll use only one of the stack pieces, be sure to give yourself a little space to slip the stack into the lip on the top of the hood. The remote control seems to be a little fussy...there is an “eye” to there left side of the control panel on the front of the hood. This needs to be clean and the remote needs to be pointed directly at the eye.

Incorrect hardware/instructions
It was weird getting an installation manual for the old one being replaced, instead of the new one. Also the hardware included doesn’t coincide with the instructions. Also the remote control works intermittently. Over all, I love the look of it and think it’s worth the money, but could use some attention on the hardwares and instructions.

Poor customer care
One of the vent grates came with a broken latch so it cannot be placed in the hood vent. Contacted customer service & they had me send pictures but still did nothing. Wouldn’t recommend, which is disappointing because the exterior look is lovey.

Beauty overrides performance
I give it 4 stars but my husband would give it 5 stars. I cook more though so here's my review of this range hood. The picture online doesn't do it justice. In person the range hood is beautiful. It is unique among all the stainless steel and glass hoods. It has a deep copper with an oil rubbed bronze brushed matte finish which is so easy to keep clean unlike stainless steel and glass. The scrolls are classy not gaudy. I searched for months and many range hoods were delivered and returned due to poor performance, dents, size and appearance and some were smashed. This range hood was delivered without problems or cosmetic issues. We remodeled our galley kitchen in our 1853 house (not a typo) and this range hood fit in perfectly with our decor and it's sleek size with our open shelving. (someday I'll post a picture when the kitchen is finished). Our electrician helped with the installation which was pretty easy for my husband but you do need two people. The hardest part was the getting the chimney even. We have the range hood duct to the outside. This range hood does not protrude out like others and overtake my galley kitchen.Performance: We placed the range hood 32" above the counter. The halogen lightening is in the front but does not get hot for me and lights up my 37" induction cooktop adequately in front, back and sides of all burners. The light only has one setting. It works well at night to light up the kitchen lightly. The front panel is lit in blue. We thought it had a clock that didn't work but our electrician figured it out and it is a timer for the fan. The power button is on the right of the panel, touch power then minus sign and the fan starts on F4 which is it's highest speed, each time you touch the - minus sign the speed will decrease. Press the power then the + plus sign and the fan will start on F1 which is the lowest speed which you can increase with each press of the + plus sign until you reach F4.For the fan timer: while the fan is on, press the timer icon button on the left and it will automatically start the timer for the fan which can be raised up to 15 minutes at one minute increments by pressing the fan + button. I've used it to set the timer to shut the fan off 5 minutes after I'm done cooking to clear the air. I don't use it that often.Suction and noise level: F1 is quiet, I can still hear water boiling and my sauteing but it doesn't pull out all the steam. F2 gets a little louder of course, I can still hear water boiling and my sauteing and it pulls out some steam but not odors. F3 gets louder with a bit of a whistle, I can just about hear water boil and barely hear sauteing, it pulls a bit more steam but not as much as I would have liked at F3 and last but not least F4. F4 is loud, can't hear water boiling or sauteing. At F4 it pulls out odors pretty good out of the house. I can feel a cool draft being pulled in thru the kitchen when F4 is on. It works well for odors but doesn't work as well for steam. When I am boiling pasta on my induction and is creating steam, much of it is pulled into the range hood but part of the steam is also pushed away from the range hood fan and part of the steam goes up and around the outside of the range hood instead of being pulled up inside the hood to the outside duct. We checked the duct work and there aren't any leaks. I would say it pulls 3/4 of the steam. My wall oven is 5-1/2 feet across from the range hood and if food gets spilled in the oven and smokes, I turn the range hood on F4 and it pulls the smoke and odor away from the oven which is a plus but it doesn't pull all the steam from boiling on the cooktop. I don't get water droplets adhering to the range hood from steam or beading down onto my cooktop from steam when the fan is on so that is a plus.I had a microwave/range hood over our range before we remodeled and it never pulled any smoke or odors and my smoke alarm would always go off and my ears would hurt from how loud it was. Additionally I disliked having a microwave over a cooktop because of the possibility of dropping items onto the cooktop and damaging it.Everything considered with looks and performance of our AKDY embossed range hood and it's price level, it's a strong 4 star rating almost a 5 star from me but because of the noise level and inability to pull all the steam for the sound level, I leave it at 4 stars. My ears don't hurt after F4 has been on for a while so that is another plus because I have tinnitus. I am happy with the range hood and we always get compliments on it's appearance :)There is alot to be considered when purchasing a range hood with building codes as well.I don't know how well it would work for a gas range as I have an induction cooktop. Hope this helps.

Disappointed in direction and hardware
It was packaged very well, but still came with a few minor scratches. It touched up easy with a marker. The directions was very unclear and no template for hood. So make sure to measure and re measure. The hardware included was very poor and will not work in Sheetrock. Buy your own mounts if you have no studs in the wall to secure too. It came with a remote that I wasn’t aware of, which is great if you like that. I have tried the remote and you have too be pointing it at the right height and in the right spot for it to work. The only positive thing is it looks great for the money and the motor is powerful.
