Great outdoor solar light
I was looking for a fairly inexpensive but effective solar powered flood light to light up a corner outside by my shed that is very dark and where I have seen some critters in the past that have scared the hell out of me! This light is just the answer. The first one I bought had some instruction booklet that was not exactly accurate but adequate enough to figure out how to assemble it. It toke me only a few minutes to get it up and running. I did have to find my own wood screws to use to mount the provided pole on my wood shed. The only other problem I had was that the U shaped metal bracket that mounts the solar panel, did not have a center punched hole but had two close to the center.(I used one of those.). Even without fully being charged for over 3 days due to cloudy/rainy weather, the light still came on and stayed on. Once it got charged up, it nows stays on all night, as I have it on the dusk to dawn setting. I did email their support to ask a question and they responded back right away. I even gave them some suggestions for future lights and they let me know of a new model they are about to release. I was very surprised by their quick and friendly customer service. I had asked if they had an extension cord for the solar panel and they did refer me to a product that I did buy. I have not used it yet as the solar panel is getting charged up more than I thought, so I may not need it at all, but good to have. I liked this light so much, I bought two more for my back driveway and those two DID have a center punched hole in the U shaped metal bracket. The batteries they provide for the remote are rather soft so be careful you don't squeeze them too hard, as I almost did. My only complaint was there is no way to turn the light on except by using the remote. Luckily they provide you with two remotes. Their newer model light does have an on/off switch on the light itself, so they are perfecting their products. The light is good and bright and doing its job. And no AC wires and electric bill charges!! Buy one, you won't be disappointed.

HONEST REVIEW
Good light, solar operated, easy to install, weight is good for mounting on the front of a garage soffit, the cord length from solar panel to light are good, unless you want to install the solar panel off the light, build quality is 4 star, the overall light is 5 star, however, when checking the recharging led lights to how long it lasts, that is the minor concern, it will say fully charged, be utilized on for 8 hours and by hour 6 ish, be really dull, but the led lights will show 3/4 charge. that might be the only thing to be cautious of, during low light (clouds/rain/snow) it does take longer to charge. using it through the winter was good, it did last most nights through the night where by morning it was dull lighting, but overall a very good product for the cost and going more towards solar.

Not as bright as other comparable lamps
This lamp model has a solid metal construction, feels sturdy & durable, and has no problem running all night after a full charge in the sun. It also comes with two remote controls, which adds an extra level of convenience. Although the lamp is advertised as having 1500lm, I found it has the lowest brightness of five different comparable lamp models that I purchased (the RuoKid is the leftmost lamp in both of my comparison photos). The brightness level is easy to discern with the naked eye, but diffcult to convey with the camera. My neighbors and I can see the difference by looking either directly at the lights in unison, or at the brightness of the ground when the other lights are turned off. I initially had all the lights mounted on one side of my building for a side-by-side comparison, and eventually decided to move some of the lamps to see their affect on the stairwell, then added another lamp. Since it is less bright than a very similarly built model that is advertised as 1280lm, I would conclude that this RuoKid model is actually less than 1280lm. There is no dim setting, so it is only on max brightness or off. Lighting control is very limited compared to other lights.

Can't even install it
I can't even get the thing installed, let alone working. The item consists of a light, a panel, a bracket, a short pole, and some bolts to attach the bracket to the panel and bolts to attach the pole to either a building or a pole. Here are the issues: 1. The panel, which is approximately 18 inches long, attaches to the light via a PLASTIC bracket. Keep in mind this is an outdoor light and is going to be subject to weather conditions. So how long do you suppose a plastic bracket is going to last? 2. There is a bracket that attaches to either side of the panel. In the middle of the bracket is a hole. You are supposed to attach the bracket to the light by inserting a non-existent bolt into that middle hole and then into the PLASTIC housing of the light. So you have ONE bolt holding a bracket that holds an 18" x 6" solar panel to the light. Again, this is an outdoor light, subject to weather. The solar panel is attached with ONE bolt in plastic housing. One wind and the panel is going to spin like a top and be pulled out of that cheap piece of plastic its screwed into. 3. If you are attaching it to a pole, it is attached by a flat bracket. Now, i don't know about your area, but in my area, poles are round. So it is interesting that one would think a flat bracket where both sides of the bracket are flat, is going to securely hold the light to a round pole. Mind you, this is the same bracket they expect you to use to secure to the side of a building. So its flat, not rounded. Does it make sense to you that the same bracket you would use to secure it to the flat side of a building will work in attaching it to a pole? Of course not. Picture a sandwich with two square pieces of bread and a hotdog between it. That is what they are suggesting for attaching this to a pole.

Impressed with this light
I bought this light in March 2024. Here we are in July 2026 and it is still going strong. I do live in South Texas so we get strong sunlight and charges this thing up. It runs typically from dusk until just before dawn two years later.
