I have a 2012 Scion TC with 220K miles on it. Somehow I stupidly rode along a granite curb with both right wheels, causing major rim scraping and a flat tire. I thought I ruined the right side of my car. But, I replaced the tire for a reasonable price and had my car aligned. What really stuck out was the rim scrapes (more like gouges). The standard rim color for a black Scion TC is charcoal. But, the charcoal in this kit looked too dark. So, I matched the color on the included color chart with the wheels and it looked most like Dark Silver. I really thought this was going to look awful since I did so much damage, but it actually came out great! I just followed the instructions, taped it off, sanded with the sanding block, wiped it with the rubbing alcohol, repeated, and painted, and repeated that as well. I took off the masking tape a couple of hours later and voila! I won't says good as new, but from a distance, you can not tell there is damage.

First bought this in Anthracite as the picture looked closest to what I needed for factory Gunpowder colored 19 inch wheels on a U.S. 2016 VW Passat Rline. The color was NOT a match as the Anthracite kit was significantly darker. The color ended up being a good match for my wife's factory Anthracite 2018 Mazda3 colored wheels however so I kept the kit. I then bought another kit in Medium Silver and the match is spot on for my Passats' Gunpowder wheels. The kit worked well. Clear instructions, everything you need, quality paint, etc. Looks much better than curb rashed wheels. Just keep in mind it's a QUICK repair kit, you don't even have to take rim off. In other words don't expect perfection and you'll be satisfied with the results!

First off, I’m sorry that you are reading this review. I know exactly how you feel. When I hit that curb it felt like my stomach dropped and my car was no longer perfect. Just remember it’s a car and it’s going to experience wear and tear. The product is what I consider a cheap fix. It will fix the damage to the naked eye but the scratch will always be there. It’s like a scar that heals overtime. Only you know it’s there and no one else unless they search for it. As you can see on the picture, the scratch is still noticiable after the application. But from a distance, you have to try hard to find it. I used the chrome black and it wasn’t the best match but it’s better than the scratch. Pros- cheap, easy to apply and will get you through until your next curb hit (it will happen trust me) Cons-tape doesn’t stick well and the paint isnt an exact match.

Works ok… not perfect but does disguise the curb rash. Took a wild guess on the color and it was correct for BMW magnesium wheels.

Use for touch ups rather than restoration. Improves the ugly curb scratches looks. Certainly an inexpensive option. The videos were helpful-easy to apply paint. Haven't run the car thru the wash rack yet-hope it lasts.

Works well and matched my Subaru Outback Wilderness rims perfectly. Paint pen was a little tricky to open.

Works great in comparison to getting your whole wheel repaired.

I don't know how since I don't park by curbs.....but my 2023 Subaru BRZ limited got a road rash wound on the rounded edge of the alloy wheel about 8 in long. Very rough. I was not happy. The wheel is a hard to match dark grey but I have to admit that the Satin Dark Grey from this kit matched perfectly. I am very pleased. Although you can get all the pieces of the kit separately, I did find it convenient to get all the pieces I need at one time. The sponge sandpaper worked well for me and the masking tape was adequate. But I am happiest about the color and quality of the paint....at least so far. Since I just painted it today, I will revise this review if anything surprising occurs. Should have taken a before and after pic. It is not perfect in terms of surface smoothness. But that is probably more due to me not wanted to sand it too flat since the edge of the wheel is rounded. With the tire installed I could not mold the sponge to sand the rounded edge properly. So sanding mostly just flattened the rounded edge a bit which I tried to avoid. More than a foot or 2 away I could not tell the difference since the color matched so perfectly. Recommended......

The paint is very thin. That is the first thing I've noticed, as opposed to the dealer body paint which is of honey consistency. Also the thickness of the paint on the wheels is a lot greater than on the body of the car. Why is this important, because it affect how you can apply it. I'm having troubles filling very tiny rock chips on the car, but with this paint is easier. My only attempt was on a small, but deep paint chip. I had to apply layer after layer until it got dark outside. Leaving each layer to dry about 20-30 minutes, and applying some more to fill the gap. It was exhausting, but I am pleased with the result. The shade of silver is rather universal, in other words, not a perfect match, but it was very, very close. Looks a lot better than a hole in the paint and seals the hole. And yes, I'm one of those who care how the car/wheels look, without going pathological. I don't accept curb rash, especially since that is due to driver error, but still, stones fly around your car and there is nothing you can do to prevent chips like the one I got. For those instances, this paint pen is a solution. In the end, if you don't stare at the repaired spot, with a magnifying glass, it's not noticeable.

Was pretty good, I used it for the first time with no prior experience was pretty straight forward. Very good for the price!! I have put a photo for before and after.

I let the paint dry and waited a month to do sanding, compound and polish. The paint never really dry or harden. It's soft and will be removed with water. Usualy you can touch paint with your nail, this will go through like it's some kind of damp clay. I ended up sending my wheels for a full powder coating. Don't buy this product
