Give these a try solo.
After owning this product for 6 months, one of the rings I put on 1st finally ripped. When Appling the 2nd one (the purple one) it ripped automatically. I've read on some reviews that you need the thumb stick extensions for the rings to work, no... You don't. I'm not a novice, but I am far from a pro and these rings helped my gaming a LOT without the extentions. Go on, buy the extensions & the rings together if you want, but honestly you may not need the extensions.

Simple, interesting, and practical solution
This is a different kind of a solution to the problem many face when playing FPS games with console controllers. Most will tell you "get good" or "play with the settings", but sometimes those just aren't enough depending on your hand/eye coordination coupled with each particular controller design. Some joysticks just naturally have more "give". Some are stiff, some are very easily moved. I only used one black ring, and I put it on the joystick that controls aim, as I have no reason to put it on the one that controls movement. It took some getting used to because it creates more resistance the farther you push the joystick. I started with 70% sensitivity. I quickly learned you can use 100% sensitivity and feel fine. It makes quick movements harder so you may feel sluggish when trying to respond quickly. Your thumb can get fatigued. I have a tendency to freak out when I see a whole bunch of enemies and this makes me move the joystick in drastic ways. This really helps with precision aiming in stressful situations. I have not taken it off and I will continue to use it.

Great product totally worth it !!!
Update on my review control freak and their customer service team are awesome I ordered this set off of Amazon and one of the purple rain is ripped and they sent me a replacement ring which is really cool they didnโt have to do that I love these rings theyโre great for first person shooters I can set the setting all the way up to high and get precision accuracy as if I was using a mouse every time on my controller itโs great and I would highly recommend it if you are really in the first person shooters or anything else that requires sensitivity using the thumb sticks.

Good product
I tested the rings on 4 controllers: Joy-Con = works great, PS4 DualShock = works good, Xbox One = does nothing, and Stadia = does nothing. The problem with the Xbox One and Stadia controllers is there analog sticks are taller than other controllers and have a pronounced sphere that extends above the body. As a result the rings never make contact with the body until the very end of movement resulting in them having no effect. They work best on Joy-Con since the sticks are the lowest of any system. Installation was easy, I never had any concerns about them tearing and that was with multiple installs/removals. They are not worth the price though, at most these should be $3.99, it's just foam rings that cost fractions of a penny to manufacture.

Heavy handed old school player
I am 47 and I still enjoy FPS games. I have an elite 2 controller and I have the tension set at the tightest tension on the right thumbstick. I got the mixed pack and have be using the black ring for about a week now. With the vortex high thumbstick. I run 8/8 and .80/1.00 dynamic with precision on COD MW. I run medium tension with a wider normal thumbstick(360 version) on the left. Before the ring I was always over pushing my shots especially with ARs. My drag scopin was fairly on point before this ring but Ive noticed that I lock onto targets and stay on them when strafing. Having a thumb that was broken and never properly fixed, I have found that this ring gives the extra push back I need. I have tried different sens but feel 8/8 gives me enough flick especially running dynamic. I use precision due to the constant fight you have to deal with while in multiple engagements. The ring feels like it gives you enough aim assist that I might try no aim assist. But I really feel no help with precision anyways. I am not a GOD or even a steady player but I can jump on and go 18/7 for a couple of matches. I am happy.

Detailed review
Iโm going to be completely honest here. I was very skeptical of these and ordered them with a 99 percent certainty they were going to be pure trash... but I was wrong. I play competitively on FPS games on PC and being a controller player has its major flaws. One of which is that a mouse player can play on high sensitivity and maintain more control. This product finally closes that gap in that advantage. I almost doubled my sense without losing any control and it helps keep you in that tight zone but gives the option to apply more force to take advantage of the higher sensitivity. Making small adjustments to your aim has never felt more controlled and accurate. It will take some getting use too because at first youโll accidentally apply too much force and experience higher sens then normal but once you master the muscle memory of how much pressure to apply itโs a game changer. Itโs definitely not for everyone and youโll have to relearn some muscle memory but if you are looking for any competitive advantage you can get them itโs definitely worth the 12 dollars to give it a shot

Just foam rings
Just super expensive foam rings. The package would cost more to produce than the ring. That and they don't work well anyway. Avoid

Meh
they are okay if youre just gonna camp with a sniper the whole match and thats the only good use for it, you cant look around at all its so slow to do so and i would really not use these. It just feels like your sensitivity has been slowed down which is good for sniping but you really cant look around man. And i am being nice here.
