This bread is delicious. I like the quality as well as it is easy to store and if unopened will last a long time. I put it in an airtight container upon opening and it retains freshness easily. It is great at toast and while many commercially made breads have a "yeasty" odor this one does not! One slice makes a lovely sandwich or is eaten toasted with just butter and jam. This is a staple in my kitchen.

This bread is exactly what I was looking for. The bread is sliced and comes with 7 pieces in it. It is just like the typical 5 grain bread you would find in Germany and is so much healthier than any bread you would buy in America. It says it lasts 7-10 days and this order comes with a pack of 6 loafs so I would say when you get them freeze the extra. But the bread is so healthy and great tasting. I just had my first 2 pieces with some honey and cheese (soft or hard cheese is good) and some tomatoes and it was delicious. I would say toast the bread a bit first and then put some butter and honey and whatever toppings you want on it and be happy. It is really healthy and hardy and great.

Grew up in NY. Parents are from Germany. I grew up with this bread. Haven't been able to find it at the local Aldi and Big Lots like I used to. (I'm in NW PA now). Anyway, great bread. Untoasted, Toasted, with butter and jam, real Bratwursts, Teawurst, liver wurst, Blutwurst, tomatoes, or some Boars Head Bologna...pure heaven. My order from Schaller & Weber just came today also...perfect timing. My 17 and 18 year old (wonder bread kids) just don't understand. You don't stack it like a Subway sammich. Simple, minimal. ....and it's damn good for you.

This sunflower seed bread is something that I became addicted to while living in Germany. I keep iit chilled in the refrigerator, which makes it easy to separate the individual pieces without breakage. This is a full grain bread, with whole sunflower seeds and whole grain flours. The dough is fermented for some time before baking, giving this type of bread its unique sour taste. I enjoy eating this with unsalted butter and a high-quality Strawberry Jam. In Germany I always buy the "Zentis" brand of jam, made in Aachen. Zentis jams are available on Amazon, although they are very expensive. Try this bread with whichever high-quality jam you have access to. This bread costs $ .49 per package in Germany, but a true lover of this bread will be willing to pay a lot in order to obtain it in the U.S. This bread arrived very well-packed, with no breakage or crumbling.

I have been buying this for years. As a diabetic, I need fiber in my diet, and rye bread with sunflower seed tastes much better than most fiber alternatives. This bread is very dense and a bit dry, so it’s best when toasted and spread with peanut butter or my favorite, tuna with mayo.

Probably one of the most delicious breads I have ever eaten. I ate bread like this in Iceland, and it brings back fond memories. Buy it here, as the price can not be beat and the taste is fantastic. So healthy, you won't regret it. Almost finished the first loaf and its been less than two days. Usually eaten with eggs and cheese, or buttered on its own with some high quality kerrygold. These came smashed and outer box damaged. Several of the breads were broken apart. Do not recommend.

I received my Mestemacher Sunflower Seed Bread today in excellent condition. No mold seen. Expiration date of 04/04/2024. I immediately checked the nutritional panel. Very disappointed. The carbohydrate count on the loaves was 31 and 9 fiber. The online listing showed a much lower Carb count. See photos above. Nonreturnable.
