Nice Knife for All Kinds of Slicing
I love Dalstrong and have been using their knives for a couple years now. This is my first time purchasing a knife specifically for slicing.I like how long this knife is. It is perfect for medium to large cuts of meat etc. The handle is ergonomic and feel comfortable during use. Of course it also comes with the beautiful Dalstrong packaging and lapel pin. This knife comes with a leather type sheath for storage. Which is perfect so it stays sharp instead of bumping around in a drawer or something. The quality of steel is top notch at Dalstrong. Every knife I have purchased is made from the type of steel used in the description.I want to also add a side note that the Dalstrong customer service is probably the best customer service I have ever dealt with. I bought a knife at full price on Prime day a few months back and the next day it went down a decent bit. I just emailed them and asked if there was any way that I could get it for the sale price and they instantly corrected it with fast response times. They will go above and beyond to make sure you are a happy customer. It is nice to know that if you are hesitant on buying an expensive knife you don't have to worry because they will make sure you are happy.

god awfully horrible handle
I don't care what the manufacturer says about this new handle. Intelligent man has NEVER in All human history EVER NEVER EVER designed a bigger asinine failure of a knife handle. It's the vision of someone who is going to REINVENT the wheel according to what their " I'm so genius intelligent " " I'm going to " " reinvent " " the handle according to my bizzaro concept "First I'll make it slippery, then I'll take away " a good beefy grippy handle " and then I'll make my slippery grip less handle shaped so that it is by design•••made to slide OUT AND AWAY from my hand as I use it❗.1 redeeming quality of the knife is that the steel of the knife is incomparable. Re: the slow learner who designed that handle---put him or her on a space station in the gamma Quadrent, to give them time to think about their genius, brilliant, wonderful knife handle concepts, and possibly re-think the matter. Ps. after nearly cutting the palm of my hand open---I re-designed the handle so that it is now safe to use.

Cuts like a dream.
Makes one realize why some knives cost more than others.

Super strong, elegant boning knife
The media could not be loaded. If you need a boning knife, look no further. The Quantum 1 series is a brand new line from Dalstrong. Like all of their other products, it's characterized by strength, super sharpness, beauty and elegance. I love that it's sharpened to such an acute angle, 8-12 degrees according to the description, in line with the Japanese Shogun series. German knives usually carry a 20 degree angle, but i've gotten so used to the Shoguns, so it's nice to have this feature in an American forged line. The design stands out most on the 6" boning knife. The starburst pattern on the blade - what Dalstrong calls 'Nova Prime' - plays an important role in allowing the blade to glide smoothly through skin and peels without sticking, which is pretty much the primary objective of a boning knife. I love the flexibility of the blade; it's easily maneuverable without compromising on strength. The laminated handle offers a sure grip, we'll have to see how that holds up over a few years of use.Lastly, Dalstrong is well known for their exquisite packaging and the Quantum 1 series is no exception. Opening the package is a joy. The leather sheath is a nice touch (don't you just love the smell!); the button clip keeps your tool secure.May have to check out a few other knives from this line!

Small Issue - Great Customer Support
I had a small issue with my knife, but the company was quick to honor its lifetime warranty. Definitely recommend.

Beautifully crafted, a pleasure to use.
My wife stated that she would like to have a nice knife for general kitchen use last fall. With Christmas coming I took the hint and began a search. With a bit of hopeful confidence I ended up selecting this. It’s nearly a year later, and she still absolutely loves it. Shortly after she received this as a gift she ordered the paring knife version of this, and I’ll give it the same 5-star rating. These knives are beautiful, who says that about their kitchen knives? They come sharp and stay sharp. They come with sheathes, which I was unsure about at first, but I have come to appreciate what they do to protect the edge, and my fingers! I never would have thought of paying this much for a chef knife if it wasn’t for my wife at Christmas, but I am very glad I did!

Excellent value for the money
This is the sharpest knife right out of the box that I have ever received and I have much more expense knives. This knife was even sharper than my Masakage Koishi Bunka was right out of the box. I wanted to give this knife a 5 star rating because aesthetically it is beautiful, but unfortunately the blade is not straight and has a couple of degree bend to the left as you sight down the spine. I probably should have returned it, but I do not think that it will impact the performance and I am adept enough at sharpening that I don’t expect that to be a problem either. Regardless, when compared to the $629 price of a 300mm Masakage Zero Sujihiki, it is still an excellent value. The only thing to be determined is how well the BDN1 VX will perform compared to the Japanese Aogomi Super Steel. I will submit another review regarding edge retention after I have carved a few briskets with it.

New Favorite Knife
I am genuinely impressed with how sharp this knife is out of the box. The handle feels much more comfortable than I expected based off of the pictures. In fact, the handle is why I hesitated to buy. However, I enjoyed how the handle felt during the first use and still find it comfortable and secure to grip. The blade design also looks better in person. I am happy that I tried this one out!

So far so good
Love these Dalstrong series, feels so good in the hand, there best series yet, did have to hone for razor sharp out the box though but sadly I have to do with all Dalstrongs, don’t think they spend enough time sharpening them.Love this one though and will update in a few months.

All good so far
Only used a few times so far, had to hone to make razor sharp.Sadly seems to be a thing with Dalstrong knives, they don’t seem to be fully sharpened until razor sharp but once you have seem very good so far, so will update in a few months.

Ottima qualità; peso forse un pò al limite
Lama bella con ottima affilatura, impugnatura (per la mia mano) valida; coltello forse un pò pesante

Expecting a fine kitchen knife, got something more useful for the woods
For what was described as a paring knife, I expected something maneuverable and light. Instead I found an overly broad, thick, rigid blade. It cuts straight through being difficult to curve. It appears a well made knife, high tech and all that. But with a slightly larger handle I would describe it as a hunting knife. The packaging was way over the top with black sliding boxes, dense foam and an elaborate embossed sheath. All the packaging showed a lot of extra cost for no extra value as a kitchen knife. I would not recommend this knife for a serious kitchen.
