This is really a good quality product cheaper compare to expensive gun sights. This one also works better and meets what you want. exposure time difference between gun sights and this one is not much different. Therefore I strongly recommend you to use this before buying an expensive gun sights. If you are happy with this you don't need to spend much money on optical gun sights. I have both and i did not see much difference.

If you put it on something that’s not porous they wear off fairly quick. If you put it in something that’s recessed they last much longer.

Q: Which color shows up best for the front sight of a pistol in day and or night conditions?

You are asking a valid question that has plagued shooter for many years. On my H & K VP-9 I use their Hi-Vis sights but on my Sig 365 I use their white glo-dots for both night and day shooting. The real answer it to try several types out including the very effective red dot sights, then you'll know what works best for you. I am an NRA certified pistol instructor and that's the answer I give my students that ask that question.

First,the glow intensity and your eyes disposition to the dark are directly related.The product glows for hours, all night long indeed.However, if you come from an illuminated room into a dark room to check the glow, you will miss it because the eye takes about 1/2 hour to adapt.A bit old school, just like the glow hands of classic watches, you'll see it in the dark if you wake up to check the time.
