At last ! Something that keeps my cats entertained for more than 30 seconds ! It arrived today and I put it on immediately to the enjoyment and merriment of my cats.I have 5 rescues cats, ranging in ages from 13, 12, 9, 5 and just 1 year ( it was actually Sherlock's first birthday preset but they share happily ). Every one of them has spent time today playing with it, watching it, pouncing on it - you name it and​ they have interacted with it. The 13 year old -Willow, had a little play for 20 minutes then went back to cuddling with her dad which amazed me as she never plays.Thankfully it's well constructed (if though a little light) as it's been dragged around the room this way and that. I've had to change the batteries about 30 minutes ago after 8 hours of play (rechargable ones are strongly recommended).It does seem that the younger cats get more involved with it than older ones, but they are all interested to some degree, so please bear this in mind when ordering. The younger your cat, the higher their prey drive will be to hunt, so the more they will play and try to catch it. The different random movement patterns also make it more entertaining as not having a set pattern of movement keeps them more motivated (there are 4 to choose from ). My cats would thoroughly recommend this product.UPDATE AFTER 1 WEEK ;The youngest cat - Sherlock has had to be limited to his play time with it as I don't have enough rechargable batteries to keep it on for as long as he wants it !The older cats have shown passing interest depending on how they feel on the day (I don't always want to read or watch TV so I assume it's the same thing - when they're in the mood they play with it). However, the youngsters are really interacting with it on a daily basis. I put it on last night and had Miss Jingles on one side and Sherlock on the other playing together and not fighting over it (miracles do happen) and it was entertaining for me watching them play and try to drag the mouse out of its cover - it's especially funny when they pounce on it and the little yellow mouse reverses under them and they move their paws to see it's "escaped", much to their frustration.It seems that if you use it as a toy that is brought out at a certain time (after feeding at night in this house) and put away after 2 hours, then they look forward to play time with it more than if it was just left down. I wouldn't recommend leaving them alone with it anyway, as little paws could get stuck, and as it switches off after 10 minutes and you have to keep pressing the button to turn it on again, you need to stay close anyway.Now, if I can only teach them how to press the start button.......?UPDATE AFTER 3 WEEKS :I've had to buy more rechargable batteries as I just wasn't keeping up with the cats demands ! The novelty value hasn't worn off yet as all of them still spend varying amounts of time playing with it, even though it's now been 3 weeks since it arrived. All the cats have shown interest in playing with it, including one of the older cats on a semi regular basis. Willow, has now on several instances played quite merrily after the mad rush has died down. Sherlock, Marbles and Miss Jingles have the mad pounce time after dinner and once they have wandered away after a few hours, she will come over and have a little play on her own - it's just for just 1 or 2 cycles of the timer ( 10 minutes each ) but she puts quite a bit of effort in to attacking it with some meaning ! She pounces, meows, scuttles around after it and loves trying to get the yellow mouse out of the little dome houses. For an old girl of 13 or 14 it's lovely to see. (She's a rescue so we're not exactly sure of her age. ) This obviously takes a little out of her as she requires a drink of cold milk and then a long nap on her blanket or an accomodating knee for a few hours afterwards.The technique of putting it away and bringing it out for special play time has obviously worked a treat. The cats are now into the routine of having their evening meal and then moving into the living room where the hunt begins !It's proving to be one of the best toys I've bought for them so far, but only time will tell as to wether their interest in it begins to wain any time soon.UPDATE AFTER 3 months ;The enthusiasm has wained for the older cats - they still have a little play with it now and then - probably once or twice a week. The younger cats however are still entertained by it almost every time it gets brought out after their evening meal.After 3 or 4 days I leave it in the cupboard unless Sherlock specifically asks for it (he goes to the cupboard and tries to open the doors while meowing loudly and won't shut up until it's out and working).It still brings a lot of fun and amusement and keeps them entertained. As a long term toy it has proven it's worth - solidly built, doesn't break easily, keeps them entertained, not bored with it.The cost was well worth it as far as I'm concerned but of course, cats being cats, yours could be the one that sits, looks at it, turns away and starts to wash showing no interest at all !!!The only way really to see is buy it for your cats and let them show you how they feel. You have a month to send it back so it's well worth the money.UPDATE AFTER 1 YEAR.Even though the initial enthusiasm has waned a little since it was purchased, my cat's are still enjoying playing with this toy !Admittedly, I have on occasion sprayed the little yellow mouse with a squirt of catnip now and again to get one or two of the older cats to investigate it, it is still in my opinion one of the best toys I have purchased for them. The youngest cat - Sherlock still goes over to the cupboard where it is stored after his tea and waits for it to be brought out and set up for his "after zoomies" play session.It's still as solid and robust as it was the day it arrived and although we have gone through several changes of rechargable batteries, the mechanics are still in excellent condition and work beautifully.So even after a year, I am still giving it a 5 * review - why ?1. It's lasted and still intact.2. It still works fine.3. The cats still play with it.4. There are no maintenance issues5. It's worked out a very low cost option using rechargable batteries.I hope your furry family member enjoys yours just as much as mine has over the last year. Well worth the money I paid.

I am sat writing this as a cat makes an absolutely deafening "mrowwwww" noise at me. He's doing this whilst attempting to lever some "luxury" cat furniture away from in front of the catflap so that he can rip the catflap physically from the door again. He is doing this so he can go and engage in fisticuffs with a cat at least 14 years his junior, that cat's giant ginger friend, and, judging by the several hundred quid in vet’s bills, an anti-tank gun. This feral bincat is not taking to an indoor dotage well. I feel he will take to me having to perform any future surgeries myself even less well so he can keep yelling.If he doesn't stop soon I'll simply demonstrate that I'm willing to engage in asymmetrical warfare... I'll turn on the stupid RoloRat.Then I will struggle to sleep at night.This will only partially be due to the sound of it smacking against THE EXACT SAME FOUR SPOTS OF SKIRTING BOARD NO MATTER WHERE I PUT IT DOWN.The RoloRat is theoretically a dumb weapon. It should just roll around fairly randomly using its motion based exactly on the movement of real rats, namely rolling around like a deceased egg that senses its lifetime's achievements are being tarnished by later generations. Whilst knotting its tail up like a terrified worm. In practice though, no matter how often it pauses, changes direction, flicks its rat-like blinking red eyes, or just gets kicked hard against a wall by me, it will just roll back to the exact same few places and smack loudly against them. It will then spin in place over... and over...After a minute or so of strained motor noise and collecting cat hair on its whiskers like a psychotically inefficient Roomba it will suddenly change direction and proscribe a gentle arc to smash against another skirting board, change direction, and roll, somehow, into another corner for a minute. If, by chance, there is a bag on the floor, the RoloRat will somehow navigate its way to the bag and slowly and painfully roll inside and trap itself.Much like real rodents the RoloRat will pause in its hateful smashing to violently blink its eyes for a while. Usually it will be upside down as it does this and somehow this will seem so incredibly futile you (certainly not the cat), will find yourself drawn to the toy and violently propelling it at this point. If you do not you are clearly not spending enough time with your RoloRat, the batteries are low or you took your RoloRat from the grass outside someone's window and thus are willing to excuse a lot.To activate it you press its nose. The button works and is easily the best feature of the RoloRat as you can try to turn off the RoloRat by kicking it in the face.The cat, who has brought me mice, seagulls, engaged in lengthy tug of wars as it tried to drag squirrels in, has eaten actual rats as I violently gestured over the fence for it to stop, and who required a 120 box of Felix pouches in front of the flap to stop him going out to fight a cat that left him looking like the floor of a Tarantino movie... is frightened of the RoloRat. That is the total of his interaction with it. Fear.Why have I given it three stars? Because after five solid hours of being meowed at by a cat with a deathwish Frolicat have created something that requires a single button press to wipe every last thought of the outside world from the cat's mind. Heck... I struggle to think of anything other than the RoloRat when it's on. Think about smashing it. Think about seeing if it has a yolk.It also probably does everything you could ask for in this kind of toy... if you have the kind of cat that is not absolutely terrified of it for the two minutes before you feel bad and turn it off with your foot. That's three stars worth. Frolicat, you did exactly what the world asked for, you built the most technically proficient cat menacer.I got this used from the warehouse.Now I know why.If your cat doesn't mind stuff that smashes into things and sometimes just charges at it and buries itself in its fur... this is good. Or if your cat is medicated. Or if you just want a sort of silence grenade that comes with a free bag of guilt.

I have two 5 month old kittens and a senior cat. The senior lady is happy to lie by the fire all day and sleep while the kittens need constant stimulation as they are full of energy and don't sleep much hence neither do I! They have lots of toys but I wanted to get them something different.Well they just moved this they where so excited to play with it that I bzte'y gut it out of the box as they know most parcels are toys for them so they wait for the postman!I think this is really good and it has a automatic timer so it does not waste battery life.My kittens seem very content with it so it gets a thumbs up from me.

The media could not be loaded.  At first he loved it just like all his new toys. After a while he lost interest so I only use it occasionally and he starts tomolay with it again. Worth while to have due to me being at work for hours and providing some stimulation. In my opion it's a good toy to add to your arsenal

Had great hopes for this, it looked just like the sort of toy our cats love. Our item arrived, and the very first time we shared it with our cat she got her paw stuck inside. We were both watching her, and thought maybe it was a fluke - but we reset it, tried again. This time she actually hurt herself, and cried out in pain. Perhaps the item was defective in some way, or maybe this design is not suitable to be safely used by cats. Either way I wish someone had written this review for me, before I bought it. So hopefully this will keep your kitties safe. Amazon have been very understanding and have handled the situation very well, so I can't fault them on the customer service. Just be careful and maybe avoid this particular one just in case? Other toys in the range may work out better.

Die Idee dieses Spielzeuges ist gut, aber leider ein sehr lauter Motor und zu groß. Mein Kater hatte Angst davor.Muss aber noch lange nichts heißen, dass es anderen Katzen gefällt...

Le jouet, qui est doté d'anti-dérapants, est pour moi de qualité en plus d'être efficace. En effet, ma chatte, après un court moment d'appréhension face à ce jouet inconnu en mouvement, l'a au final bien vite adopté ! Elle passe à chaque fois environ 30 minutes à donner des coups de pattes aux souris (il lui arrive aussi de mettre une patte dans les trous lorsque les souris sont rétractées) ou à simplement observer son jouet avec ce qui semble être une certaine fascination.Dernier point qui est un peu subjectif ; celui de l'émission de bruit. J'ai lu dans l'espace commentaire que certaines personnes considèrent que le jouet est plutôt bruyant. Personnellement, je ne trouve pas qu'il le soit. Le bruit est léger et pas désagréable en soit. Cela étant dis je reconnais volontiers qu'elle n'a pas encore voulu jouer avec pendant une durée bien supérieure à une trentaine de minutes. Je ne sais donc pas si passé ce délai le bruit deviendrait pénible pour moi aussi.

Il gioco sembra ben realizzato, il problema è che la mia Micia non lo guarda nemmeno.Questo sarà sicuramente soggettivo, ma la mia gatta preferisce le sfere di carta stagnola ! 😹Non l’ho resa per non dovermi recare agli uffici postali (che odio dal profondo del mio kuore!)

Though, you hear something while it is active, it is pleasantly quiet.You need 3 AA alkaline batteries and voila, you're ready to go.Most of the time, you will use the regular mode: you press briefly the ON button on top of the cheese 🧀 and the mice 🐭 start showing up. The show will go on for 10-15 min and will turn itself off. If you will to stop the session before it turns off automatically, press the button again.My cats are intrigued by it and spend some time either observing it from a distance, charging it, touching one mouse tentatively then running away and disappearing for a few minutes before coming back either cautiously as if trying to surprise the mouse, or plainly full steam ahead. They can try to touch one mouse, then the other, then seem disinterested for minutes only to come back to it later.Sometimes, they ignore it but will go mad about it at the next session. Depends how they feel.I REALLY LIKE the "Play-while-Away" option. This option makes the toy play 3 GAMES, 2 HOURS apart. Since it is safe for the cats to play with that toy, it is a good idea to use that option if you leave your kitties for a few hours.It is easy to set. Instead of pressing briefly the ON button, press and HOLD the ON button during approx 3 seconds until you hear a few beeps.You are all set.The first game will start immediately. 10-15 min. later it will stop but the ON button will keep on flashing periodically.Approx two hours later, a second game will start. 10-15 min. later, it will stop and the ON button will continue flashing periodically.Approx two hours later, a third game will start. 10-15 min.later, it will stop and the ON button light will not flash anymore.There will not be a fourth game.
