Wow. This stuff is brilliant, BUT not enough & a bit on the expensive side, BUT worth it
Wow. This stuff is brilliant, BUT not enough. I managed to paint/roll 2 coats on my bathtub & looks brilliant. Be warned, the fumes are intense, so sensible to wear a mask & make sure you use all the ventilation you can get to disperse the fumes. Also, use the best quality foam rollers to roll/paint bath. I would recommend but ideally, do this DIY when everyone is away from home to give chance to ventilate & dry. Very easy to use, just mix the 2 tins together. I got the smallest tins & managed to get 2 coats. So I plan to buy another small amount, but if you are purchasing for the first time, just get the big tin. Also very sticky, so make sure you purchase methylated spirits or acetone to clean your brushes & your own hands, otherwise it takes forever to remove. A bit on the expensive side but worth it. I would have ended up paying £2k/£3k for new bath. Worth paying less on this. Since my last review bath has now properly dried & remains intact, following bathing in tub & washing with bath cleaner. My suggestion roll with good quality short hair roller rather than foam rollers, which disintegrate very quickly. I purchased good quality brand foam rollers & they still didn’t last very long. Be aware you will probably have to ditch roller, as difficult to remove this sticky liquid. I’ve purchased 2nd small pot & plan to roll another 2 coats, as very pleased with these items BUT I remain stating a bit on the expensive side, but works out cheaper than buying a new bathtub.

Plan in advance
Make sure your working area is clear and decide in advance the sequence you will carry out the work. Once you start you cannot easily change direction as the paint films over very quickly. Really nice finish once cured.

Easy to use
I read the instructions that said you have to mix contents of both cans and use within a short time space, so to be able to give two coats of paint to my bath tub, I poured half of each can into a jug for mixing and saved the other half for the second coat in a couple of days when the first coat had cured. I have a very large cast iron bath and there was just enough paint for the two coats needed. It did destroy the foam roller I used and luckily I had a replacement foam roller head for the second coat. I painted the edges and around the taps with a brush and found that the finish when dry is no different. Be prepared to throw away your brush or roller head after each coat as they are impossible to clean. PS - If you are painting a bathroom suite, then you will need two packs of paint, one for each coat. Edit after one year - the paint was perfect and the bath looked like new until I recently bought a new power shower head, the paint has now started to peel along the bottom of the bath where the water lands. I will need to buy more paint to repair it and buy a shower head with a softer flow.

Hard work unless you remain patient.
Depending on the size of the surface need doing will determine how much you need. I did a corner bath and side panel, so needed 2 lots of paint. It is not advisable to use all paint in one go, as the shelf life is only 4 hours. Best to split in half, using a cleaned soup can etc pour half of each components and add some white spirit or other thinners and stir for a couple of minutes to get the air out. Try and use a conclave foam mini roller instead of the normal foam rollers as the disintegrate slower. You will need up to 4 rollers overall. Wait 10-12 hours then sand down any imperfections. Prep again and finish off. If you use it all in one go you will struggle to get the desired finish. Hope this helps.

Good, easy to use
I am very happy with the effect. See for yourself in the photo. I highly recommend this product. How did I do it? 1. Kitchen towels on the bottom of the bathtub, soaked in vinegar (about 8 hours). 2. Washing with a rough sponge with vinegar. 3. Sanding (I used a machine) at first p80 sandpaper hard and long, then p120 and p180 soft and short. 4. Thorough washing and painting. 5. For painting, I used a good quality foam roller (enough for two coats). The second time I painted with a new roller after about 10 hours.

Failed Product - Poor Customer Service - Warranty Doesnt Exist
Summary: After painting, a few months later some areas of the paint peeled away. Always a chance of a bad batch I thought. Not so Barry Shaw – Sales Director. Despite a month of conversation seems certain that the 2 year warranty doesn’t apply. Means a ruined peeling bath. Longer version: I spent weeks of prep for this product, including ensuring temperature and curing times could be met along with appropriately cleaning and sanding it down and making sure everything was ready. On application I found that it dried very quickly so within half an hour I had made sure I'd finished as it was starting to get sticky. I was relatively pleased with the overall finish although I had some paint marks I could see. To my disappointment, 2 months later (of use every day) I started noticing the area where you rest your head had a few areas where the paint was peeling. Noting the effort to get this applied correctly to the letter, I requested another product posted out to me free of charge noting the two year warranty to apply over the peeling areas. Barry Shaws response was “I have been monitoring other customers and we have had no other issues reported regarding the material supplied, we have sold approx 750 kits in the last 2 months” No further resolution despite a month of discussion. Sure this is great if it works. It has not for me and poor customer service means I am stuck with a peeling bath. I expect most people may take a lot longer to write these reviews because 5 people use this every day in our house. Your risk.

Effective enamel paint.
Purchased to re-enamal and old bath tub where enamel had worn and staining had occurred due hair dye being used in a shower. Time consuming cleaning and preparation process. Quantity looks small but was split into two mixes to provide two coats. Finish not perfect but adequate. Goes off and becomes sticky quite quickly. Used roller brush. Second coat after 24hrs and left for a week to harden.

Excellent
I used this on my kitchen sink, It looked like new. About six months on it still looks good there are a couple of small chips from thing's banging about in there. Pretty good coverage I mixed half for one coat then the rest for the second coat. Also open windows as it has a very strong smell.
