works well even in bright sunlight
The scale marker is easily bendable and probably tearable as well, but I made a sleeve for it to travel in. At the dinosaur dig it was still heavy enough to stay put in a stiff breeze, but more and it would have blown away. One could tape washers to the back side I suppose. It provided a clear, sharp scale grid when photographed against an uncovered bone.

These are great for Archaeology investigations!
They are compact and light to carry in your dig/survey kit, but still sturdy enough to stand up to the rain and other abuses. They make my artifact photo's look twice as good without any extra effort!

made out of thin cardboard, not laminated
This product is made out of thin, non-laminated cardboard. I was shocked when I received it. If I had it to do over again I would look on the web for a ruler like this to print out.
