Wild Albacore Tuna

Item packaged well and arrived on time. The cans are easy to open with a flip lid. Nothing is added to the tuna, no oil, water or salt. There is a large amount packed into the can so it goes far and tastes good. A much healthier option to the chain store brands. Worth the cost if you’re looking for good quality and taste.

Would recommend. Firm and flavorful not swimming is water or oil. You are getting what you paid for. Will reorder.

OMGosh, There’s tuna is absolutely amazing. I could actually eat it straight out of the can. Doesn’t have that fishy smell. Your taste buds will appreciate this tuna & so will you. When you open the can and dump it out, it’s basically one huge chunk of albacore. I can’t tell you enough how delicious this product is.

Short Version: Wild Planet albacore tuna is THE BEST— you will love it. Long Version: I was shopping for necessities at Costco during the pandemic. They reconfigured the warehouses throughout that time (aisles blocked off in strange ways), and the checkout lines wrapped around the store. Because of all this, it took at least 2 hours to check out, and one became bff's w their fellow masked check-out line neighbor (the extended time + lines meant there was time to chat). I noticed that the woman next to me (actually, 8 ft away from me) had shed-loads of Wild Planet tuna in her cart, so I asked her about it. She raved and raved. I explained that, for no apparent reason, I had become intolerant of commercial albacore tuna (all brands: BumbleBee, Chicken of the Sea, Starkist, etc.) and that it caused weird GERD symptoms?! I can eat whole jalapeños without GERD symptoms, so this didn't make sense. But, it meant that I could no longer buy canned tuna. I don't know what these companies are doing to their albacore, but it is a BAD way to process tuna! Tuna that causes esophageal burning after consumption?! She said that the weird GERD/acid reflux that other commercial tunas trigger will NOT happen with Wild Planet. I still didn't add any to my cart, though. Once I got home, I saw that I had paid for a 6-pack of Wild Planet no-salt albacore (haha— this woman snuck it into my cart without my noticing). She was right. Seriously— Wild Planet tuna is THE BEST. I have become a convert, and now I buy Wild Planet in bulk. Other companies are trying to emulate Wild Planet (some even use the same cannery—like Natural Catch tuna), but none of them can compare to Wild Planet since WP tuna is cooked once, in the can, and other companies cook + process tuna 2+ times (and use weird chemicals). I tried Natural Catch, but it was rubbery, and the texture was like a hockey puck. Buying by the case translates into a budget-friendly price (like $3.50 or less per can). Sometimes I have to hunt for that great price, but it's: No-carb. Low-fat. High-protein. Delicious solid tuna steaks. Healthy. Sustainably pole-line-caught. I'm happy I can eat albacore tuna again— This is a great company! If I could sneak a can of Wild Planet albacore into your Amazon cart, I would! I know that you would love it. That goes double for anyone who is experiencing strange GERD symptoms after consuming commercial canned tunas— this one won't cause acid reflux.

This is better than most canned tuna. It's a big chunk, no water added. Easy to make a tuna salad with flavorful ingredients and minimal mayo-type dressing, for a low-cal tasty meal.

This is my fav! Stock up, because there is a shortage on Albacore. Over fished and caught. Folks are buying less expensive fish, because of the price point, like skipjack, mackerel, mongol... Wild Planet really makes an effort. Outsourced testing, one of the lowest mercury content. Super clean, no stinky odor and it makes great tuna melts! Watch the prices at WM. Sometimes I find it for less.

Great product! So much better than the usual skipjack variety. Highly recommend.
