Yumei Instant Hotpot Self-Heating 425g, with Vegetables and Noodles in, Golden Soup Flavor Pack of 3 (Golden Soup)

This Golden Soup is great. If you're a vegan/vegetarian this stuff is absolutely incredible and for campers and hikers alike it is veryy handy It is a little spicy before adding the actual pepper packet, but the broth packet isn't as spicy as the sichuan version of this same hot pot. Think just a tad spicier than sriracha. Lotus roots, mushrooms, and proper bamboo shoots (not interior strips) with clear sweet potato noodles makes this dish an absolute vegetarian delight. For camping food, versus today's fast food prices, this 3-pack providing a total of 1710 calories (570 per package) for $30 basically competes on price and likely beats on nutrition. The fact that it cooks itself with just a little water is even more awesome, saving you the need to carry risky fire-starting implements in dry fire-prone locations. As the heating packet only reaches about 120-130C and is in water while cooking, it can't start a fire. If you give the heating pack about 10 minutes to cool down after cooking your food, you can use it for a short-duration hand warmer in colder climates (about an hour or so is how long it stays warm enough to be useful to keep hands warm, though a little wet since it'll be soaked.) The packs come with their own two-piece chopsticks, and while they have textured tips which are great for the vegetables, they are not very good for the sweet potato noodles, which constantly slip out. A small 2-piece fork would be a welcomed addition to the pack. Or swap the plastic chopsticks out for 2-piece wooden chopsticks, for better grip and lowered environmental impact. Great product! I've used it many times.

I got the Golden base because it said non spicy. It tasted really good but maybe I’m just a wussy because my mouth was on FIRE. lol. So technically it wasn’t a 5 Star to me but just because I’m apparently a baby with spice isn’t the products fault. Also, pay attention to how much water you put in the lower part because it WILL bubble up the sides. The fill line is on the outside of the container (slight horizontal line about the height of the corner indents) and is very hard to see. I suggest keeping the water a bit below the line. In both the top and bottom parts.

Tastes good but way too spicy for my taste. Ordered the least spicy according to reviews but it was still too much.

I didn’t like them but my friend loved them

The taste is pretty subpar (I got the Golden) and my noodles were moldy (spot in the corner had spread through about half the noodles). Haven't looked at the rest. Value? Idk. It's worth it to have a hot bowl I can make hot top Ramen in I guess. And if you're into moldy noodles, do I have a deal for you.

I lived in The PRC for 9 years and had good success avoiding spicy food. Spicy hurts me. That little word SICHUAN really should have warned me. The fact that I focused on Golden Soup is very much my own fault. Imagine my surprise to find it Molten Golden Soup. Oh my god it is so spicy. The saltiness is perfect for me. The sourness of the pickled items is also perfect. No complaints. It is NOT bland to me.
