Digital Basal Body Thermometer for Ovulation Tracking, Fertility, Period Tracking and Natural Family Planning with Beeper and Memory, Oral Use Only

For the price, you can't beat this thermometer. I like that it reads to the hundredth of a degree. To ensure an accurate reading, keep it in your mouth for another minute after the beeps are done - and yes, the number CAN continue to rise after the beeps; it just can't decrease. I take my temperature in the middle of the night and either use my phone flashlight to read the number or wait til morning to record it (it retains only the most recent value). My one qualm is the battery cap pops off easily, but it's not bothersome enough to knock off a star. FYI, it will read temps over 100, but the hundreds digit won't display. So, it works just dandy as a regular thermometer, too, and will even do a special beep if the temp is over 100. FYI 2, "Lo" does not mean low battery...it means the temperature is lower than the thermometer "expects" and is waiting for you to put it in your mouth. For what it's worth, my SymptoPro course improved this device, and according to my instructor, my charting seems to be accurate. I would recommend this to anyone who's tracking cycle temperatures...no unnecessary bells and whistles, just does what it says on the tin.

Great value and reads to the hundredth of a degree. For best results, keep it in your mouth a minute after the beep—it can still rise. It stores the last reading, and works well for nighttime tracking. Battery cap pops off easily, but not a dealbreaker. “Lo” means it’s waiting for a temp, not low battery. Perfect for cycle tracking—simple and reliable!

Unfortunately one of my dogs from my pet care service got ahold of it yesterday chewed up my basal thermometer. I'm so sad this tool is a vital part of my fertility tracking. I felt good to have a tool that could help you understand your body. Very accurate in taking my temp. Never had an issue with it malfunctioning. It also remembers the last temp you took just I case you forget. It does not light up at night but I don't need all that. I just need to maintain my routine with a good working thermometer. This here was the one for me. So sad i have to get another I built such a good relationship with the first one. 😔 Update7/10/2017 I bought a new thermometer (I thought it would be the exact same one) and they changed the look and everything. I'm not fond of this one at all. I like that it takes my temp but let's say you wake up in the middle of the night you super early (1,2 etc) you are suppose to take your temp before you do anything. You may fall back to sleep afterwards, so in the morning (7,8,9 etc) you take the thermometer out to see what your last temp was to compute it in your app. This one does not store information like my last one you take your temp even if it's 4am and you are dead tired. If you don't compute that info into your app you will loose the data..So frustrating! I do not like this thermometer I am so mad they switched it out on me without telling me or even showing an updated picture of the new thermometer. That is not right, I expected the same one I purchased!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This thermometer works ok. It’s a good value for the price, but it takes a long time to read your temperature. It is reliable for charting for fertility awareness and inexpensive. Those are my two main advantages. I have been chatting close to two years now and my results using this thermometer have been consistent and reliable. So 4 stars for that. So why one less star? I ordered this same thermometer a year ago and it was the light pink cap like in the picture. Although it also takes a long time (1-2 minutes) to read the temperature, I also realize I’m not spending $100+ on my perfect thermometer. I recently ordered a new one and it was hot pink tipped. No big deal, I figured it was a minor supply change or something, but it sadly doesn’t function properly. It will read my temperature after two minutes or so, but once it shuts off it will not recall the last temperature. That feature is really important for those groggy mornings. *Amazon is sending me a new one to replace the malfunctioning one* and hopefully it is a fluke. If both thermometers do the same thing I will update this review. Overall, this is a good value and reliable option. The beep to signal a read temperature isn’t loud enough to disturb my husband, there are no lights on it and it has been consistent for me. Great value for those on a budget.

Bought this thermometer after it was the most recommended in several groups. I had 2 main criterion when purchasing a BBT- 1) It has to have a memory recall - I usually take my temp around 6 in the morning and go back to sleep till 7. I wake up with my alarm, shove the BBT into my mouth, wait for it to beep, shut it off and go back to sleep. I manage to do all of this with my eyes closed. So, having a thermometer that records the last temp is super important. This BBT does exactly that(See below for how to see last temp) 2) It should be fairly quiet- This thermometer beeps fairly quietly. Once when you turn it on and 4 short beeps when it’s done taking the peak temp. I usually turn it off as soon as one of four start beeping and go back to sleep. All of this takes less than 2 mins. This BBT is slender in frame and you can easily hold it in your mouth when sleeping. Overall, you’re getting a good quality, accurate, medical grade thermometer at a great price and I wouldn’t think twice about purchasing. Highly recommend. How to see last temp: When the thermometer is off, press and hold the power button. The last temp will be shown on the display for as long as you’re holding the power button. As soon as you let go, the bbt will go back to the self calibrated temp allowing you to take your new temp. Hope this helps.

When I bought this basal thermometer, I was hopeful that I would only need to use it for a month before I got pregnant and it was no longer necessary. Because of that, I really didn't think I needed anything particular out of it, and now two months in, I can definitely see some drawbacks (hence the three star review). PROS - It works just fine. You hit the button, it turns on with one short beep, and it usually only takes somewhere between 15-45 seconds to settle on your temperature, ending with four short beeps. - The thermometer also stores the last temperature in case you want to temp and then fall right back asleep. CONS - Beeping is loud. If you temp orally, you'll notice how loud this thermometer is. It doesn't seem so when you test the button in the middle of the day, but in the early morning hours it sounds MUCH louder. I temp vaginally, and the sound is muffled better when I can lightly press my thighs together, but I can still hear it up over the covers if I don't situate it properly. - No back lighting. Another issue I wasn't really considering until I had it. If you're like me, sometimes you wake up an hour or more before you normally would and want to temp at that moment just in case you don't get another 3 hours of consistent sleep before the next time you have to get up. This thermometer has no backlight, which makes logging temps in the dark much harder. It also makes taking a second temperature that same day more difficult. CONCLUSION If I had to do it all over again, I might spend a bit more on a thermometer with less noise and a backlight.

I received this item promptly. The package was in great condition. WIth that said, I have seen many reviewers commenting that the display is too small. What did you expect? It's a digital thermometer....the same size as any other digital thermometer! I can read the display just fine when taking my BBT in the mornings. Most digital thermometers take 30 to 60 seconds to complete the reading. This one takes about 2 minutes. I'm fine with that. I'm in no rush to get out of bed in the morning. I'm using this thermometer to help track my cycles so I can have more of a clue of when I'm ovulating. The "on" button on this thermometer is flat, as others have mentioned. But again, I'm okay with that too. Also, I sleep with earplugs and still have them in my ears when I take my temp in the mornings.....I can still hear the alarm when the thermometer is done taking the temp. Overall, this is definitely worth the money I paid. What you need it for is just to take your BBT. I certainly don't need anything fancy, like one with a light to see. (I just use my cell phone for that, and again....I'm okay with that.)

It's junk. The first one they sent me was broken. I figured it was a fluke, it happens. But the second one is also junk lol. It beeps super loud and I'm pretty sure it's telling me the wrong temperature. Of I redo it right after the first temperature check it changes by .5 degrees every time. I would not recommend this thermometer. For fertility it needs to be reliable & this definitely was a waste of money. The last thermometer I bought from a different company lasted me 2 years.
