Oken Audible Swimming Earplugs Sound in Water I'm 52 and have always struggled with water in my ears after swimming. I purchased these last year and have not looked back. I also recently discovered that they work great to diminish loud sounds - specifically in my case, cutting some rebar to a shorter length with an angle grinder. After cutting the first piece without any ear protection (yes, I'm that sort of idiot) I knew I needed something to protect my ears. I grabbed my earplugs (stashed away with the pool towels) and the difference was amazing. These ear plugs are exactly what they say they are and work exactly as claimed. They're comfortable, keep water out but let things like conversations in. I have no idea how they manage that but they do. After decades of water in my ear canals after swimming, these are a godsend.

These are not the most inexpensive, but you get what you pay for. They fit comfortably, don't fall out, and block out virtually all noise, which is what I was looking for. If hearing ambient sound is important to you, these are not the earplugs you need. These create an almost silent environment when swimming in a noisy public pool. I liked the first pair that I bought so much, I quickly ordered 2 more pairs so that I would have reserves. Plus, the dark colours they offer means I should be able to find them at the bottom of the pool should one fall out. But so far, the fit has ensured that they stay intact.

I was glad that I picked the version with the cord, as a friend of mine bought the same pair without it, and quickly lost an earplug while surfing. I had mine out of my ears for a short while in the water, and after diving under a wave, one of the earplugs had fallen out of the rubber part that is attached to the cord. Unfortunately, the part you get 3 of in different sizes is the part that is connected to the cord, so the part i lost was the hard plastic orange one, that you only get one of for each ear.

Works as described

One of them was broken on arrival. Tear in rubber. Also, the rubber feels extremely cheap. I suspect many break quickly before they arrive or after only a few uses
