Fresh, clean ingredients- no odor. Tender pieces. Titus drooleth for them. And although he’s allergic to most meats other than venison, this is a viable big treat.

Excellent ingredients. I have a hard time finding snacks, even grain free ones, that don't agitate my dog's food allergies. He loves these!!

My dog enjoys these treats and they are acceptable with his limited ingredient diet. I've ordered these from Amazon several times without any problem. The order I received today is outdated.

Dogs love to eat. They particularly love anything that is soft and meaty and while they usually prefer beef, they are not going to turn away meat in other forms. And a treat that is certainly meaty and soft is Caru Wild Boar Recipe, Soft 'N Tasty Baked Bites All-Natural Dog Treats. These dog treats are different from the usual treats I feed my two dogs. Most other dog treats are made using chicken, beef, and a combination of other ingredients. These Caru dog treats are made from wild boar, which is not a meat you normally find being used for dog treats. To add to the oddities, the other main ingredients are blueberries and cranberries- two things you don’t expect to see on a dog treat ingredient list. When I opened the pouch for these treats for the first time, the quality that I couldn’t help but notice was the odd smell. Yes, other soft dog treats smell weird, too, but not like this. It is like a combination of a barn, fish, and chemicals. Luckily, you can seal the bag quickly to keep the scent from lingering, just be sure to wash your hands after touching. The odd smell will remain on your skin until washed. As for my dogs, well, not surprisingly they both love these treats. And this is no surprise because what dog doesn’t like a soft, meaty treat? The scent must be music to their noses because they devoured these treats in seconds. And that is one issue I have with these treats. They are very small and since they are so small, they do not last. The pouch is small, too, so there aren’t many treats inside. The price is a little on the steep side as well. Dogs love meat and my dogs do, indeed, love Caru Wild Boar Recipe, Soft 'N Tasty Baked Bites All-Natural Dog Treats. If you can get past the scent and cost, you will find these are a good, quality treat that most any dog is sure to love.

My dogs have NEVER begged for a treat until now. They will sit in front of the cabinet I keep them in and look at me, then look at the shelf. Back and forth until I get the bag out. They can hardly contain their selves.

To clear up some possible confusion, I ordered wild boar treats and received salmon treats so my review is on salmon treats. The attached adhesive barcode label says wild boar so there must have been a labeling mixup. Irrespective, my dog loves salmon so it is no big deal and I feel the quality of these treats are likely representative of all of the Caru flavors. My dog is a medical service dog. She has eaten a healthy and balanced home prepared organic diet her entire life to keep her healthy as I have invested considerable expense and time in her training and certifications - none of that store bought poisoned dog food from China for her! Before I get into what I like about the Caru treats, I'll say that my dog absolutely loves them! Because I am very picky about what she eats, I carefully read any labels and even go so far as to look up the manufacturer on several of the dog food testing sites I prefer. I did the same with Caru. They gets high marks for quality ingredients, which is reassuring to me. Most noteworthy is Caru uses only USDA inspected human grade ingredients sourced in the United States. They are a young small company out of Vero Beach Florida, started by husband and wife dog lovers that formerly had a primary care medical practice. Being a recently retired medical researcher myself, that is also scores points with me. The first listed ingredient is salmon (crude protein = 24%) followed by other wholesome ingredients. Conspicuously absent (a good thing) are artificial additives, preservatives, grains, and potential allergens. Included in the recipe are blueberries and cranberries, both loved by my dog. I admit to taking a little nibble myself to test the flavor. They're actually pretty tasty. Just one little nibble, that's all (I was being watched closely by my dog, LoL). It is understandable why she practically inhales these treats. If you are looking for a nutritious treat that your dog will love that is made with human grade responsibly sourced ingredients you can pronounce, these Caru treats are an excellent choice.
