Pool Solar Reel Cover, Protective Cover for Solar Blanket Reels up to 18 FT Wide, Waterproof UV Resistant Pool Covers for Inground Pools

***This is an update to the original review below.*** The seller reached out to me after I left my original review. I explained the situation and provided a couple pictures, and they replaced the solar blanket cover without any issues. I had a replacement solar cover within a few days. I am hoping that this one will last longer than the original. That is yet to be determined, but I am happy that the seller stood behind the product by replacing the original, even though it was past the Amazon return window. I purchased the Ardila Veela solar blanket cover to prevent my solar cover from getting damaged by the summer heat. I purchased this product June of 2022. By August of 2022 it ripped already... The material is very thin and does not hold up to the elements. Definitely wasn't worth the money.

This is a very nice cover that is well made and easy to install with the Velcro tabs BUT, as others have reported, it is about 8 to 10" too short for an 18' solar pool cover. We have to put a towel over one end of our cover. We would return it since it is not as advertised, but we like it too much!

This is only the solar pool cover cover. It is made of a very tough material I do not use the velcro straps so I can't comment on them. I use tie wraps to attach pvc pipe along the long sides and just drape it over the solar blanket. Quick and easy on and off.

Fit (length) for my 18ft reel is good. Cover feels very light - like a really thin woven shower curtain. Silver lining on the inside is nice, but not sure how durable the over is. Worried that it will not last the season. I did not like the way it wraps the reel. I have a thick solar blanket and the velcro is spaced pretty far and leaves the cover wrap very loose. It's not adjustable and as you can see in the first picture, is a very "baggy" fit for the cover. The ends can be cinched, but that doesn't really help with the look. TBH, I've used a couple of white narrow tarps and wrapped with some of the nicer flat bungie straps that looked more trim and were more durable (at least 3 seasons in the PNW). Total cost was also less than what I paid for this thin cover. I was hoping that a one piece purpose-made cover would have a more thoughtful design and implementation for this rather simple use case.

I’ve owned two and the draw strings on the end closures kept breaking to the point the ends couldn’t be closed. Ended up just using two bungi cords around each end. The Velcro closures worked great. Would be nice to see design change to put Velcro for end closures.

This is a useless piece of garbage. See Photos. It is not 18 feet long. In the photos, one end is covered while the other end is sticking out by almost 1 foot. It Is cheap, very thin material. It drapes way down Leaving the solar cover hanging loose and on the ground. I would need bungee chords to securely keep the cover rolled up off the ground and an additional tarp to cover the end that would be exposed to the harsh Northeast winter. If I opened it up sooner, I would have made the return window. I will now search for an effective and durable cover. I will be throwing this in the trash. What a waste of $30.00 and twenty minutes of my time. DO NOT BY THIS TRASH!!!

fits well and easy to wrap and secure to cover

This cover is okay for the price. The material is nice and it has a draw string on each end. The color is beige not white as shown in the picture. It only has about half as many Velcro patches as it needs for a complete closure. So, plan on having to buy additional wraps or Velcro so you can completely close the cover. I needed a 15 ft. long cover but it only comes in 18 ft. so there is a lot of slack to slide back onto the reel which makes for a loose, messy looking wrap. Could shorten the length but would lose one draw string, stitching and one Velcro patch.

Overall, a good product. Easy to install and remove. A handy item.

We have used bubble covers before with similar velcro closures, but this unit has the added benefit of ties on the ends. We have used this for a couple of weeks and so far we have no issues. Our pool is only 32' long so the rolled up bubble cover is easily covered with sometimes too much slack making is susceptible to wind catching the open areas between the velcro closures. We have experienced this with previous covers and have used extra ties to secure the cover at multiple spots along the roll.

I had always stored my solar blanket in the garage to protect it from winter snow and ice. But after purchasing this cover, I no longer have a need to struggle with moving it or finding space to store it. The convenience of being able to leave it in place and knowing that it’s protected is awesome. I am now into my second season of using it. After the first season, it did not weather at all. The quality is great! It’s still as good as new on year 2. Note that I did use a some bungee cords to keep it from touching the ground, though if you have a bigger pool (a larger solar cover) you may not need them.

I just closed the pool and put the solar blanket cover on. While I was unwrapping the cover I was caught by surprise at just how playable and durable this cover is. The reflective inner liner appears to be durable as well. The length I ordered was a perfect fit. Tied the two ends to ensure wind won't blow this and cause premature degradation in the overall durability. I also wrapped a couple of Bungie ties around it. I will see what happens after the winter I suppose, but can't help but think that it will do just fine. Yes I would recommend. Great price.

When they say "up to a pool 18' wide", this is not quite correct. What they mean is that the cover is exactly 18' long. I have an 18' wide pool, and the solar blanket fits it exactly, yet the cover only barely reaches both ends of the rolled-up blanket. It certainly does not completely cover the ends the way it is shown in the picture. I cannot get it even to reach both ends of the roll (see pictures). I would say this is for a 17' wide blanket at the most. It needs to be a minimum of 6" longer, probably a full 12" longer, to cover both ends of the blanket, as shown in the picture in the online ad. I only just received the cover, so I cannot speak to durability, it is certainly easy to use, and the Velcro strips are very useful to help keep the cover in place.
