Surprisingly great - if you want quick and easy toasties at home
I really love this little toastie maker and was honestly surprised by how well it works. As long as you follow the instructions, it delivers great results โ the sandwiches come out properly toasted and evenly cooked every time. Itโs super easy to use, with a straightforward design that doesnโt overcomplicate things. One of the best features is how it comes apart for cleaning โ everything separates nicely, which makes it quick and easy to clean after use. Itโs also not too bulky at all. It doesnโt take up much space and fits neatly in the cupboard when not in use, which is a big plus for smaller kitchens. Overall, itโs simple, effective, and does exactly what it promises. A great little appliance that Iโm very happy with.

Impressed is an understatement
What a great buy. Made this in 3.5minutes. Honestly a perfect little gadget for a lazy breakfast/lunch toastie. What I use mine mostly for is office lunches, quick and easy. So much so that my colleagues at work are getting one too. Now the challenge starts telling them apart ๐คฃ

How Does This Work Do Well?
It's really simple but does an absolutely fantastic job. I thought this was going to get thrown in a drawer and never used after the first week, not even sure why I bought it. Turns out I use this at least 2-3 times per week, every week. Makes a variety of delicious toasted sandwiches really really. Bread gets crispy, filling is hot, the good never sticks. While it's in the microwave you can get the rest of your lunch together. My recommendation by the way is 2:30 on the first side, then flip and 2:00. You might like yours more or less crispy than me but this works really consistently for me. I use it in a cheap microwave I bought from Co-op.

If you're thinking of getting one, JUST GET IT!
I picked up this compact microwave toastie maker to simplify quick lunches and itโs genuinely lived up to expectations. The Mico Toastie Sandwich Maker heats up incredibly fast without any preheating unlike my larger Tefal and I can have golden, warm sandwiches ready in under a few minutes. The non-stick surface are extremely easy to clean, and I appreciate that itโs even dishwasher safe for when I eventually get a dishwasher. The design is able to accommodate even a very thick cut sandwich. Both the silicone and metal parts feel durable. If you've read some reviews you'll see some people claiming it isn't able to make a crispy toastie. Let me just go ahead and say the people claiming this are wrong. It's 100% user error. If you follow the instructions, the Mico is EASILY able to knock out crispy toasties by the dozen. I am really glad I finally bit the bullet and bought this. The easy of use and less time spent washing up compared to a my larger Tefal maker is all the encouragement I needed. This thing really is capable of making a toastie just as delicious as a full size machine.

Excellent toastie maker
It excellent product, I was a little dubious whether it would make the toastie crispy or not but I shouldn't have worried. For best results definitely cook for the longest time, 3 minutes on one side then 2 minutes on the other. It makes the best toasties, even my partner said it's a great little device, high praise indeed from him. If you love toasted sandwiches you need this is your life.

A containment challenge
This toasts better than I expected, but there has to be another way to design the edges or the closures so that meltable fillings stay put. It's great if all you have access to is a microwave, or if small appliances just take up too much kitchen space. It might also be good for croissants and bagels, but I didn't try that. Maybe there's a perfect combination of bread type, slice thickness, and type and volume of filling that'll make a sandwich like the ones shown on the box. But I haven't found it yet. Don't expect it to perform as well as a regular sandwich toaster โ It's more like a mini panini press. It doesn't close tightly enough to seal the edges of the bread. That might sound minor, but I found it a pain in the neck. The closures stretch to accommodate the thickness of the sandwich, but they're quite loose, so unless you have extra-thick slices, a lot of filling, or both, it's just holding the layers in contact. Anything that melts oozes out. As cheese is probably the most common ingredient in toasties, that means you have a challenge. If you keep everything within the edges, cheese escapes and melts on the grill plate, then oozes underneath into the silicone cover. It's easy to clean when you dismantle it, but the resulting sandwich is a bit sad. I've experimented with different sliced breads and hard, soft, and vegan cheeses. All kinds of supermarket loaves toast fine with some trial and error to get the timing right. I'm persevering to try to find the sweet spot and my next experiment will be using ciabatta rolls and treating the MICO Toastie as the panini machine it actually is. I'm overthinking toasties way too much, but I'm betting ciabatta's large holes and continuous crust will keep the cheese contained. We'll see. Pros: * easy to clean * no inaccessible spots in its innards or casing for cheese to leak into * good for a hot lunch at work * small and convenient โ easier to store and keep to hand than a cumbersome electric one Cons: * doesn't compress enough to keep cheese contained * can make bread hard

takes little space in my cupboard, it is super easy to clean, it could be cheaper
I love it. It is expensive (it could be less expensive), but the rest of things really compensate. Most of my friends were like "in the microwave?", yes, it goes to the microwave and it does what it is supposed to do with very good results. I find the bread crunchy, but a little bit a different crunchy than in sandwich maker. Anyway, for me it is quite ok. What it counts for me: -cleaning it is really that easy....no comparison with a electronic sandwich maker, really. -to store it, it takes that little space that for my tiny house it is what I needed. The things that you need to know about it are about how it works, so if you did not read the other reviews yet, you need to know the following in order to understand what you are buying: -you cannot use it more than four times in a row (but come on, me with 4 sandwiches ... too much....) -You need to turn the thing in the middle of cooking (with oven gloves because it gets hot). From one side you cook 1 minute more +/- than from the other. Me with 1000 power, I do it 2:30 - 1:40, for really brownish bread as I like, so it takes you 3:10 to have a sandwich (with less power, 900, maybe it is the same, my microwave is not that super because it has inverted technology which remains a bit mysterious about efficiency , but with 600 power, be ready to wait a bit more, way more). -count well, this means that I take 12 minutes 40 seconds to have four sandwiches in the plate (unless I start eating them while doing the other ones), without counting the preparation time, so in that sense, it is a bit different than a sandwich maker that usually gives you at least 2 at once (my mom's is huge, you make 4 at once). -once you prepared everything, you can be doing other things and just come to turn around the thing every time the microwave beeps, for me it works. -The cheese is melted but differently. You know this story about burning your mouth because you bite the sandwich you just took out of the sandwich maker.... well, here the cheese is melted but it did not happen to be at the point of being boiling so that you get burned, or it can also bit that it gets cold more quickly than when made with a sandwich maker ...I like it, I am happy with this. -As said, it gets very hot but I found a trick to take the sandwich out: the last round I do it with the clips looking up, it is very easier to unclip it without gloves because the silicon is not hot (but be very cautious, the black-metal-like thing inside, it is extremely hot) To sum up, if you are looking for an option which takes less space, it is really easy to clean, you have a microwave and you do not need to do more than 4 sandwiches in a go, buy it.

FABULOUS item!!!!
I had my doubts but I'm SO pleased that I bought this item. If you are wanting to make a quick Toastie for one, then I recommend you buy one of these. They produce a wonderful crunchy Toastie. I've used it for chicken and avocado - photo - cheese and tomato, and roast meat Toasties. Apart from the results being fabulous, I love the fact that you can just drop it into soapy water and after a quick wipe it's spotless! I have the deep Breville Original but the cleaning after use drives me CRAZY! Granted the Breville does things, like cracking an egg on the bread which cooks as it toasts, but for everything else the Morphy Richards 511644 MICO is my go-to Toastie maker. I'm so pleased that I bought this product! :-)
