This was a huge hit as a birthday gift for a preschooler who loves all things outer space. Keep on mind it will require adult supervision and guidance, especially for younger children. It includes a nice variety- 3 activities. The glow in the dark constellations were a huge hit! The rocketship blasted off. Please be safe with that one. Painting the sun catchers is fun and fairly independent activity. (Note- some of the paints are light and don't show up very well.) But that was a minor limitation. Overall, I'd highly recommend this kit.

My son loves just about everything National Geographic puts out and he really wanted the Sensory Science kit this time, I was hesitant because I saw some not so great reviews, but decided to give it a go, and I’m so glad I did. All the items in the kit were excellent and great quality , I also have to mention that the play sand is the absolute best we have ever played with, The texture is soft and it molds well. We really love it. I saw some reviewers were not happy with the pink sand in the kit and also weren’t to happy with the magnetic putty. The pink sand and the magnetic putty we received was great , the sand was incredibly soft. The Magnetic putty was a little stiff , but it’s putty so kind of expected , however , after playing with it a bit it softens up. We have no complaints, my kid loves the kit and I even like playing with it too lol. I would also like to add that I was surprised that a really cool educational booklet came with the set and we learned some really cool facts about non-Newtonian fluid and also learned about how putty came into existence, it was very surprising. Overall this is a great value for the money there are so many cool things in this kit and will keep your child busy and you might enjoy playing with it too just like I did lol.

Recently unboxed for one of those cold, snowy days when grandchildren had no school. They had a lot of fun using the planets and seeing them glow in the dark. Will be doing some of the experiments on the next snow day. Quickly delivered and exactly as described. Great purchase.

Lots of fun simple options for quick experiments to lengthy ones. Decent quality but slightly overpriced for a kit due to brand.

Bought as a gift for a child he seemed to like it.

Amazing kit! I’m planning on homeschooling my daughter and she’s 4 1/2 right now and I was looking for something fun that she could also learn from! Besides all the experiments that come with it, you get a book of bonus experiments to do at home!

National Geographic products are well made. They are informative, educational and fun.

Super fun making and painting your own volcano child definitely has to have patience we use our own paints to make the colors brighter, but the eruption was quick but fun
