Owala FreeSip Stainless Steel Water Bottle 24 oz Very, Very Dark

This bottle does exactly what it's supposed to do. Yes, it's small, but that's the point. There are definitely pros and cons. The obvious downside is that I have to refill it a few times throughout the day. On the other hand, it's incredibly convenient. It's not too heavy when full, fits easily in my bag and my spin bike's water bottle holder, and the locking latch doubles as a carrying handle. I've even clip it to my fanny pack with a carabiner for hands-free trips to the gym. It keeps drinks cold exceptionally well. I usually fill it with ice, and it lasts all day and overnight. One unexpected benefit is that it fits perfectly in the portable "ADHD caddy" I carry from room to room, which has actually helped me stay hydrated because my water is always with me. (I wrote a separate review about that caddy if you're curious.) If you want a bottle that travels well, doesn't leak, and keeps your drinks ice cold, this is a great choice. I also get a ton of compliments from both men and women on the color (Pink/Purple, Darling Diva). It's a less common color. So, it's a great conversation starter at the gym especially!

I purchased this bottle just to try out in the summer of 2023. It is now the summer of 2026 and I still use it multiple times a week (only because I now have multiple Owalas and I have just ordered my third Owala FreeSip). I have used so many cups—Stanleys, Yetis, Hydrojugs, Hydroflask, etc—and the Owala is still my favorite. Here’s my favorite things about it: LEAKPROOF! This is the biggest one. I can throw it my bag and trust that everything will stay dry. THE SPOUT! Hands down the best spout I’ve ever used. I love that I can sip through the straw but then close the lid and keep my straw clean and not have any spills if it tips over. And then it also gives me the option to absolutely inhale water if I’m about to shrivel up from dehydration. I think this alone is why I now own three in different sizes. STAYS COLD! The 32 ounce holds ice for quite a while. It varies depending on how often I refill it but if I’m not constantly refilling it, it will hold ice for about 24 hours. THE SIZES! I love the size options. My original one was a 32 ounce and is a great middle ground for me. It holds enough water that I’m not refilling it every hour but it’s not huge. It’s great for work and this bottle will be going to live at my job. I just ordered the 40 ounce for home because I want a little more volume when I’m outside gardening but I can’t say much about the 40 ounce size yet. I also have a 16 ounce (kids size) that I use when I leave the house. It fits in a lot of my bags and it’s leakproof so I always have cold water with me. It’s perfect especially since I’m on medication that causes dehydration if I’m not careful. DISHWASHER SAFE! This one is self explanatory. It’s amazing and I love it. There are a few cons though. The first one is that the 32 ounce doesn’t fit in my cup holder. Not a huge deal since it’s leakproof—I just keep it on the passenger seat. But Owala does have cup holder friendly options now if that’s something you want. The bottle also does dent and scratch fairly easily. I dropped it getting out my car one day and it’s a little beat up now. Kind ugly, but it’s still my fave. It’s kinda disappointing because I have Yetis and Stanleys that have been through far worse and still look new. Just be mindful of that and baby it a little. Still 100% worth it though. Long story short, it’s a great bottle that will keep your water cold and everything else dry. As someone who has used this bottle regularly for years, I highly recommend!

I absolutely adore these water bottles compared to any other I’ve come across. Let’s start with the pros: you have the option to drink using the straw or tilt the bottle back like a cup. The mouthpiece is covered and leak-proof when closed, and it has a handle that locks the cover securely, then when open, it can be used to carry it with your fingers. I’ve dropped it multiple times, and surprisingly, it hasn’t dented. It also keeps my drink cold throughout the day. Now, let’s address the cons. If you open the bottle with the straw and pour in carbonated drinks, some of the liquid will splash out. (Lo and behold, there is a warning on the bottom to not use with hot or carbonated drinks…so there’s that.) Also, the carrying handle is made of plastic and appears to be a bit thin. While I haven’t tested it yet, it seems like it could break if hit the right way. It is sturdy so a tad heavy but lighter than any other I’ve encountered in its class. Considering these minor drawbacks, I’m so happy, I wouldn’t even deduct a star from this product

The FreeSip system. Being able to drink directly through the nozzle or use the integrated sorbet seems super practical to me, especially when I'm busy or driving. The lid also closes very well and so far I have not had problems with spills. It keeps the water cold for many hours and the large size really helps me drink more water during the day. Despite its capacity, it feels comfortable to wear thanks to the lid handle. I also really liked the design. The color is beautiful, it looks modern and the bottle feels resistant and of good quality.

I absolutely love this Owala FreeSip water bottle! The 40 oz size is perfect for keeping me hydrated throughout the day without having to constantly refill it. The FreeSip design is my favorite part because I can either sip through the built-in straw or tilt the bottle back when I want a bigger drink. It keeps my water cold for a long time, and the stainless steel construction feels sturdy and high quality. The lid closes securely, and I love the sleek Very, Very Dark color—it looks simple, stylish, and goes with everything. It’s perfect for the gym, work, errands, or just keeping next to me throughout the day. Great size, keeps drinks cold, comfortable to use, and absolutely worth it.

This is my first Owala and I am more than happy with it. Everything about this water bottle is perfect. It keeps the drink cold for a very long time, I like the mouthpiece where you can either sip or drink. I thought that the shape of the sip part would bother me as it’s not shaped like a straw. I actually like the shape of this better. And to drink instead of sip is nice also as neither part interferes with the other. The cap seals tightly and I turned it upside down and did not have any leakage at all. The handle is also a plus. I can carry while hiking or hook it to my backpack. Very satisfied with this water bottle. I will buy another.

I really love this cup! The stainless steel design is great & I love that you have the option to drink through a straw or directly from the lid. They also come in so many cute color options & my favorite thing is that they fit in almost every cupholder I’ve tried. My only complaint is the durability of the outside. I dropped mine once from only about a foot off the ground & the bottom ended up dented and scraped. It’s still completely functional & I continue to use it, but I do wish the exterior held up a little better to everyday drops. Overall, I still really like the cup & would recommend it—I just wish it was a little more durable!

I bought my Owala freesip water bottle in December 2025, and now almost 8 months later it's still like new. It never leaks, it's dishwasher safe, fits inside my laptop interior spot or outside holder, also fits easily into the car cup holder. It's been dropped accidentally, I've travelled with it, taken it to the gym, on road trips, to work daily and it still looks brand new. Also like it says, keeps my beverage cold for hours, even when I've left it inside a hot car! The straw or sip/chug feature is great too, very versitile with both options in the lid. And lastly, the locking mechanism gives me the confidence that it is not going to leak, EVER!!

Un po' cara rispetto alla media, ma ne vale la spesa! Tieni molto bene la temperatura, ma soprattutto la possibilità di bere a suzione grazie alla cannuccia, premette l'utilizzo facilitato anche durante la guida! I colori sono fantastici!

Même après des heures ou une longue journée, l'eau reste fraîche comme au premier instant grâce à l'isolation sous vide en acier inoxydable. ​Pratique & Capacité : Sa grande contenance en ml est parfaite pour rester bien hydraté(e) toute la journée sans devoir passer son temps à la remplir. ​Le fameux couvercle FreeSip : C'est là que la magie Owala opère ! La possibilité de boire soit à la paille intégrée (en restant droit), soit en la penchant comme une bouteille classique est une invention géniale. Le bouton poussoir avec le loquet de sécurité étanche évite absolument toutes les fuites dans le sac. ​La qualité de fabrication d'Owala est irréprochable et ça se ressent au quotidien. Un achat 100 % rentabilisé !
